Why does everyone want’s the number from the tank he was killed in and not the one from (for example) Villers-Bocage?
After all I don’t like the idea of honouring a SS-member.
Even after all these years I can’t bring myself to play he Germans in WW2 game
Because unlike a lot of the other tigers we know he was definitely in that one. Many occasions the others are conjecture or are disputed.
Or maybe it’s because ‘007’ is a cool number for unrelated reasons ?
At least I wonder how many people would want to use markings that looked cool without worrying too much about historical accuracy.

Zorg, I meant to reply to you sooner on this. I think I talked about the Germans having blocks of pigment to mix up their paint with? Towards the latter part of the war, they found that a lot of oil-based products (like paint thinner) was getting harder to supply (courtesy of the 8th airforce) What this shortage meant was the engineers in the field had to make the paint with anything they had to hand. Typically spirits, fuel etc. So you see a few reference images where some tanks look like the paint has been barely applied at all.… Read more »
