This video was very nice for me, because I’ve never used weathering. I don’t play “real world” wargames so I prefer the polish look, but those tanks makes me want to try some of those techniques…
Is it just me, or is there an issue with the audio after the 1:02 mark in the video?
Yes there is @beetle
Listening through my earphones, the audio only on the left hand side. John was probably using a stereo microphone that wasn’t facing him.
It’s also braking up slightly
the camera had a directional option on the audio pickup. I set it wrong 🙂
Great series of videos for this tutorial @johnlyons, thoroughly enjoying them mate.
This is the first of the Hobby VLOGs that I’ve watched and I wholeheartedly agree. I’ve been watching these and the terrain ones you are doing John and they have been very helpful. I’ve not provided a lot of comments as I’m not that accomplished a painter. I do absolutely agree with the Mirco Sol and Micro Set. I’ve been using that since highschool back in the 80s and that stuff is awesome. Yep I’m an old fart!
You’ve also made me realize, I’m going to have to invest in some better brushes.
I like the ‘tired’ look for the Panthers. Suits the idea of stuff that’s been over used and rushed through the maintenance chores or recovered and repaired after battle damage. Enough ageing without looking like it’s lived in a scrap yard for 10 years. A bit ‘newer’ will work for the American stuff, reinforce the ‘we got more than you’ idea?
they are looking great.
is there someting wrong with sound?
In the past when I’ve painted vehicles, I’ve only ever painted upto the main camo, but now I’ve seen what you do to finish yours I’ll be doing that from now on.
The Tanks look great, and will add character to all games there used in.
