Tanks Alot Warlord
June 14, 2011 by dracs
Warlord have brought a new tank rumbling into their Bolt Action range, the Panther Ausf D!
Now you can command one of these over the fields of WW2. Yet how does the miniature compare with the reality?
As usual it seems that Warlord is bang on the money when it comes to their historical acuracy and I think they have done a really good job with the level of detail in this new model.
What do all you who are fans of WW2 wargaming think of this? Does it hold up to the reality well? Would any of you be interested in picking this up? Drop us a comment below.

This version of the Panther first saw service at Kursk. Unfortunatley most of the Panthers sent broke down due to design flaws that hadn’t been anticipated. Mainly the exhaust system which accumulated unburned fuel that led to a lot of engine fires.
Other issues like engine power and drive train malfunctions made the début of the Panther a bit anti-climactic but when the later versions came out the Panther proved itself to be one of the finest tanks the Germans produced.
Not to mention the Allies darn near crapped their pants when they found out the Germans rated the Panther as a ‘Medium’ tank
Wow, and the price is not bad at all. Is this made of plastic?
It will be a resin (which is a plastic) model, with the possibility that some of the smaller details will be metal.
Personally, I will be waiting for Warlord to do a Panther A with zimmerit. That would go very nicely with my Tiger 1e and Panzer Iv H.
If they do it like their other vehicles, like blitzr said, the main body and turret will be resin, and things like the hatches, barrels, etc will be done in a white metal.
