Snarling Winged Beasts Come To Konflikt ’47!
August 19, 2016 by brennon
Warlord Games have plans afoot for what's coming in Konflikt '47 over the next few months. Some feature pieces include the deadly looking German Nachtjager...
...and the snarling German Schreckwulfen. Both of these sets feature some stunning sculpts. I love the Werewolves they have been working on, it's always hard to get them right.
In this case the heads look the right size, the bodies look awesome and they seem like they could tear you to pieces.
If you're interested in checking out some more of their releases and the full schedule you can find them HERE on their website.
What do you think?

Those are some nice looking werewolves, makes it really tempting to get into this.
Do it… resistance is futile (or so I found ….. sigh)
I already have far too much to do as is, plus I barely have the room to store what minis I already own, so will have to give this a miss.
good looking monsters.
I’m sold on the werewolf, they are awesome.
Yeah, I’ll be starting this
…me too!
The more i see of K47, the more i want it. Although Im all about the monsters – so it’s gonna have to be the german forces for me. Cant wait to see what they have in store for the soviets
The Ruskies have some kind of large bear-like creature. Sounds interesting
Those are very nice.
These look terrifyingly awesome.
I have the sudden urge to file a requisition for 10,000 rounds Rifle ammunition cast in consecrated silver and inquire if the Chaplain Corps would be willing to bless flamethrowers, would probably be pointless, ass these things are the product of (rather Mad) Science rather than supernatural forces but it would be good for the troops moral.
I wonder if the Allies will ever try for their own monster troops, Sharkmen in the Pacific theatre perhaps?
One of the things I found while I was visiting the Warlord Games and ordering the rules…(and dropping my pants of financial responsibility in the process ….sigh) is that Warlord has regular releases and support planned for this game for the next several months. With this quality of minature and the mid term planning of releases, I am glad that Justin and Ben’s passive/aggressive bullying forced me to take up this game (yes I am stil blaming the two of you)
In the space of two weeks from not wanting to start a new game, I can feel my resolve now starting to buckle
From the gaming perspective they are monsters as well, 5+ saves, strong, fast, 3 attacks in cqc and for a reasonable price. The best thing about them: they have a tactical role as they both have night-vision! So if it gets dark they get really really deadly! As they should be, fun times!
There is something about the fly-by-night monsters that kinda impresses me. I think it is the fact that Warlord didn’t go very traditional nor too Lovecraftain.
Why? Why? Why? Great models but (as often) poor names. The Nachtjäger are ok but the Schreckwulfen is an absolute terrible name. If something has to sound german why don’t ask a german for assistance?
Firstly Wulfen is not german. Secondly if you write it that was you end up with something that is frightened and not frightening.
Warlord is a company with a certain reputation so why so they don’t spend the money for a proper loca?
A better name for the werewolves would be Schreckenswölfe.
Sorry for my intolerance…
I know no german, but I know latin. It does my head in when stuff in Warhammer is that kinda pseudo latin that is so close to being correct, but in the end it just isn’t. I get that in 40k everyone supposedly speaks ‘Gothic’ which is just latin with a margin for error. Either way, just commented to day please, please, do not apologise for your intolerance. Language can be used very creatively in games, and also very lazily.
@Setesch I think it’s a good point you raise. I’d not really given it much thought but I feel it does matter. I imagine that as an company selling products across the world, they would be taking some more precautions to make sure the names make sense. It’s a bit like when u go into cafes and see loads of spelling mistakes on the board/menus of predominantly Turkish owned places. I think, surely either the printers don’t speak English well or they don’t care. The Konflict 47 problem with language is a bit more serious (but not much, its only… Read more »
Technically we do have hydrants, but they’re underground not above ground like American ones are. 😉
