Roll Out A New Plastic Sherman V Soon For Bolt Action
April 4, 2016 by brennon
Warlord Games have added another plastic kit to their roster for you lovers of tanks. This takes the form of a new plastic kit for the Sherman V which will be available soon to use in Bolt Action...
"This was perhaps the most populous British tank. The only downside was a high silhouette, but the Sherman made up for this with its reliability, ruggedness and numbers. Armed with a 75mm gun and two .30 cal Machine Guns, the Sherman V could handle itself just fine."
I think this is a great looking tank and the kit looks great too. You even get yourself the option to stick a big old dozer blade on the front of it for shunting rubble out of the way. A fantastic and classic looking tank that should be part of any Allied collection.
What do you think?

We always use numbers when describing one of the advantages of the Sherman, I imagine the crew of a Sherman looking down the barrel of a Panther or Tiger would much rather have had an extra 50mm of sloped armour or a bigger gun 🙂
Another great addition to the range from Warlord.
Those are very good.
….aaaaand there’s *something else* coming very soon to back-up the Sherman Vs… 😉

Plastic Firefly? Could it be?
😀
Can only live in hope….
The pictures look really good . I notice actual tow rings on the hull as opposed to plastic bumps on the plastic M4 . But I don’t see any tools on the rear deck only Brit style fire extinguishers . Are these the actual plastic M4A4 or just resin stand ins for the photo ?
John must be happy with this news. 😛 Shame I’m building an all British force, right now, but maybe for a Guards Div. Tank War platoon in the future. I still prefer the look of the Cromwell, though. Any chance of a plastic Comet in the future, maybe? 😛
If I didn’t have those resin Sherman Vs waiting for paint, I’d be all over this!
The dozer is the Culin hedgerow cutter, which allowed the tank to plow a hole through a the giant Norman hedgerows. Without it a tank would ride over he hedgerow exposing it’s thin belly armor to panzerfausts and ‘schrecks and possibly immobilizing the tank. This way they got a nice tank shaped hole for the other tanks and infantry to follow up through.
Tank nerd alert off now. 🙂
Hedgerow cutters were very rare on British tanks, primarily because the bocage was concentrated in the US sectors of Normandy.
It would be good to see the addition of stowage as standard in these kits as that’s one thing that’s ubiquitous to all M4’s throughout the war.
hey look great.
It’s actually a Cullin attachment used to breach hedgerows.
Shermans also had a speed advantage and had faster traversing turrets.
