Let’s Play: Konflikt ’47 – Pegasus Bridge
May 15, 2017 by johnlyons
Join Justin & John as they get stuck into a Bolt Action Konflikt ’47 Battle Report where they are fighting over Pegasus Bridge! It’s time for a bit of alternative history with a dose of Weird World War from Warlord Games.
John is taking command of the German Army defending the bridge while Justin controls a US army that wants to storm ahead to try and take the bridge.
It’s going to be a fierce battle where both sides are going to have to put their all into it!
Who do you think is going to be able to take the day?

Is this a replay???
I think so. It looks familiar.
Totally a replay. I remember the deconstruction of Justin’s tactics I posted, I remember feeling half-bad about it afterwards hoping I wasn’t too harsh. Great game and video, though. 🙂 Definitely one **worth** replaying.
thought i was losing it for a minute there lol
I really dont like the way you do your battle reports in this room, I would prefer it if both of you were at the table going toe to toe and rolling dice with both of you in them just like two people playing a wargame. I cant really get a feel for this game like this. Its more like having football highlights. I dont feel like you are playing a wargame more like – I move my unit here and give it that order then lets film someone doing it for the other side. There is not much I… Read more »
Like always though with my comments I feel I am the only one who feels like this.
I can’t say I’m a fan of it either.
Welcome to an experiment by @lance 🙂
Believe me it has some non fans in here too lol 😉
Needless to say nothing new that has been filmed in the last few months is in this style.
But this kinda dates back to the live blog type format we were using for battle reports, we have retired that format and Lance is doing some experiments on how it would have performed all edited together 🙂
We are all guinnie pigs;)
Hi Warzan thank you for getting back to us. I prefer battles that we have seen in the main room you conduct your weekender in. If the Battle reports could be videoed like that then I feel it would be alot better in this battle bunker you have.
Can I also add that the weekender room can I say this looks like you are all squashed in there playing the wargame. Same format as the Weekender but in the Battle Bunker you have.
I for one really enjoy this long form, and hope to see more of it. It is so much more convenient to have these long episodes in the background while I paint than the short 5 minute live blogs.
I hope this will encourage more gameplay to be shown with less reliance on recaps as hawker2000 has been saying, as it is a good rules refresher and more immersive for me.
As a selfish aside, could we get all the videos from the Bolt Action bootcamp done up in a compilation video like this?
And as you say, you may get rules wrong, if you are as big as the wargaming industry relies on you would it not be approriate to actually do a lets play where you do get the right so as to bring more people in to that type of game. I cant understand how you would want to get rules wrong if you are representing a companies product. Can you imagine a game magazine getting new game releases wrong and not minding about what they got wrong. What I am saying is Im a backstager and pay for this content… Read more »
Now I will pull you up on that, a lot of these lets plays are just that (and that’s why it’s stated at the start) if we are doing something to ‘represent’ a game they will be in the show with us (Or it will have been sent to them to review)
Some times lets plays are just for fun…
Sorry mate I think I was kinda on my soap box and I do feel I was a bit off at the time.
But all I am saying is you are in the public eye with a big focus on representing some of the customer’s products you alone are a company. Im in no way trying to be a troll about this just want to discuss it.
I have seen actual company representive get the rules wrong whilst filming their games on BoW. I’m not sure whether it’s realistic to expect the team to have a full grasp of the rules for every game they decide to film a Let’s Play of, especially in the heat of battle. I know I wouldn’t want to be held to that standard, I tend to be a stickler for getting the rules right. I wonder whether the disclaimer at the start might be a bit of self-fulfilling prophecy, in that it’s raised a potential flag for the viewer so it’s… Read more »
That is true, I do agree with you @redben, Beasts of war do cover alot of wargames it must be really hard to keep all the rules for all of the games in their heads I have trouble with 40k for the amount of squad rules and weapons.
with regards to getting the rules correct, its not an issue for me, i see it as being the rules are there as a guideline, and so long as both players are playing in the same way then the odd mistake is ok.
what is not forgivable is getting @suetoniuspallinus name wrong 😉
Hell I never remember the rules of Pub Pool nevermind board games.
I do get a bit off key every now and then, my wife just has to roll her eyes and Im fixed again.
@warzan I prefer the term of Stunt Hamster….
But I do feel the weekender room with both John and Justin at the table works really good and love the Gates of Antares and the Bolt Action demo games they have done. Do that format in the Battle Bunker.
We already do, this was recorded quite a while ago 🙂

Just out of curiousity, what is it you prefer about watching games in the Weekender studio as opposed to this studio?
I am watching the vids Warzan has just posted What I like about the games in the battle bunker look alot better and less distracted. They look alot better all round. The lighting is better the environment is better and looking at the room you are not distracted by all the games which are in the weekender room. There is more focus on the game. Plus the Batle bunker has alot more space in it and represents a room I would love in my house.
Bugger – I hoped it was a rematch…
Don’t realy like this battle report . Need to see more of the game play . Soz
Would have been nice to see a rematch…
Im not seeing a lot of Konflict since the update of Bolt Action.
Funny how Bolt Action 2 adopted templates and now 40k are dropping them.
Didn’t like this style either, turned off after first couple of turns.
I think this is a good example of how BoW has evolved. I haven’t seen this game before so was coming at it fresh. The new set up for the cage used for the more recent Samurai game has a much better method of filming and is a testament to the ever evolving BoW experience. I do like how you can feel their is a rivalry between John and Justin too. I would have to agree with Justin over the result of the game. I think the sides should be mismatched in this game with the defenders having a smaller… Read more »
I’m not a player of Konflict 47 but still thought the format you used for demo ing the game worked well to get me a an idea of the game. I won’t start playing it though as I’m not a fan of that genre. I’ll stick with regular bolt action.
Was interesting to listen and watch though as I painted. Keep on doing these demos its nice to see other games I don’t play and who knows one of these days you might hit one that makes me just say, I GOTTA HAVE THAT ONE!!!!
Never had any exposure to Konflict 47 but this was a fun little game. Bit confused though at the start as I thought it was linked to Dust 47. Is there a lets play or demo game coming for Dust 47?
