Community Spotlight: Escaping A Beach Invasion Into The Fallout Wasteland With Brother Calistarius
October 26, 2018 by crew
Come and join us for another delve into the Forums and Projects to find the best of the best from the last week or so. We're going to be getting stuck into lots of great looking pieces this week...
...make sure to always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.
Brother Calistarius by macgothmog
We're starting off the article with some epic 40k painting, macgothmog has been putting in some serious effort into this model with his attention to detail and splendid work with non metallic metals.
As a project that had started in line with our Space Hulk Community Challenge this paint scheme has really come leaps and bounds from where it began. Plus, magothmog is beautifully teaching us his steps and processes to attempt the same techniques ourselves. Thanks magothmog!
Beach Landing Board by mikekip
Beginning the process to an 8x8 World War II beachfront board, mikekip has been splendidly working away on this amazing piece for the perfect beach invasion scenario.
We're always impressed when gamers break out their buckets of sand for their games although when a photograph of a board, begins to look like a real beach landing... Respect has to be dished out for seconds. The wisping nature of the grass and depth of field from the camera work is excellent showcasing of the work applied.
The unkempt grasslands that spews over the landscape is a beautiful representation of the difficult terrain surrounding the salty beachviews, we're a little hesitant of the orchard in the center, but who cares. As long as you're having fun playing toy soldiers, who are we to criticise?
A Fallout Wasteland by Amachan
Chugging along with her daily paints of quite the variety of miniatures, Amachan has been speed painting her way to the apocalypse in Fallout Wasteland Warfare.
The attention to detail in the rust work really caught our eye for the Protectrons and even with what seems like such a simple paintscheme, Amachan lists in detail just how many paints are involved to get the desired effect.
It might look easy to achieve that rust effect, but to do it right, you gotta go all the way! Well done.
What Are You Painting Right Now?
Every week we’re absolutely blown away by the incredible topics that are put into the Projects, it’s getting more difficult to choose Community Spotlights! We love your work and we hope to see a lot more of it in the future!
If you fancy getting your hobby fingers out and showing off your newest paint job, terrain piece or even greatest gaming achievement, we want to know about it!
We don’t mind if you’re a newcomer to painting or a veteran of the brush, everything you do inspires us to create more and more content together!
