The Bolt Action Australian Army Goes Jungle Fighting
August 4, 2017 by brennon
Warlord Games has been delving into the jungle with their latest set of releases which bring the Australian Army to the fore in Bolt Action.
You can see how the whole army comes together in this collection which has been added onto their webstore HERE. It comes with a range of Infantry units as well as a few specialists here and there. I was particularly taken with the two new Australian units who got themselves an Infantry Section...
...and the slightly bedraggled looking set of Militia which is making up most of the force too.
Of course, you'll need someone to lead this motley crew and that's where the Officer Team comes in. The dress and style of these soldiers are so different from those fighting on the Western Front that it immediately calls up new possibilities for painting and more.
Are you tempted to get stuck into a new Australian force to use on the tabletop when playing games of Bolt Action?

Nice to see the poor bloody Militia in Khaki uniforms, (North Africa surplus) as that that is what they were sent to battle in initially before eventually jungle greens were dispatched to the troops. Those poor under prepared, under equipped (and at times poorly led) men slowed and at times held he Japanese advance enough for more experienced soliders to arrive. Not resounding victors on the battlefield, but true heroes none the less, and men to which my nation owes a great debt.
Although personally I prefer plastics this a very tempting army indeed.
Love the militia and the native contingent!
Very very characterful 😎
Very nice and very tempting.
One detail that amazed me is that they did actually bother to give them the proper mkIII rifles while the regulars use the newer version. Something that wasn’t 100% necessary but adds a ton of completeness to the minis.
Got to have Oeen guns, no true army is an Aussie one without Owen guns everyone knows that. 🙂
great figures.
Will go nicely with my Japanese army!
