Zdzislaw Beksiński’s Artwork Comes Alive In Nightmare Cathedral

Fan of the disturbed and intriguing art of Zdzislaw Beksiński? A limited one-time art focussed product has gone live on Gamefound from Board & Dice. Combining Beksiński’s wild brain of vivid landscapes and horrific visions with Eurogame mechanics in Nightmare Cathedral.
Before, we have all been invited to look deeply into the works of Zdzislaw Beksiński. Between 1960-1980, creations of gloomy and disturbing images were born. Across this gothic canvas laid land in decay, an abundance of skellingtons and dark scenes of death. Now, in a very limited run, Board & Dice are interpreting the artwork, moulding the shape of Nightmare Cathedral.

Focusing on Dystopian Surrealism at its core, players will be facing a competitive strategy of taking dominance over the board in a series of resource management, objective meeting, and partake brutal and horrific conflict. As players make their way up the Ritual track, they will be recruiting for their mode of attack and fortifying for any incoming onslaught. This would require a steady footing in the world around, as players explore the wide map to combine strategies and be rewarded victory.

Now, considering the title of the game is named "Nightmare Cathedral", with a name that metal - it deserves a reason why! In the middle of the board throughout gameplay, a cathedral will begin to rear its head. Once this Cathedral has finished growing, players will need to face the horror outpouring. Gaining the ability to control the nightmares that head into the world, unleashing terror on those outsides.

The baroque gothic themes are found throughout the game consistently, bringing a full board game title as a representation of Zdzislaw Beksiński's art. Whether that be visually showcased on board, cards and components. Horrors and nightmares will be provided in miniature form too, as a visual representation of your dirty doings and deeds!

Once this is off of Gamefound and embedded into pledged retail stores - you will never see another printed. If you are keen on getting your hands on the game now, you can expect to pay roughly €90 for everything to get started in the title. However, if you do want to wait around for this to appear online and in limited stores, you can expect that to arrive in 2023 for €127.00. Plus you'll get your hands on some cheeky stretch goals if you pitch in now!
