Rise From The Wreckage Of War In Core Worlds: Empires
December 16, 2018 by dignity
Core Worlds: Empires is a sequel to the hit area control game of the same name. Released in 2011, players acted originally as barbaric kingdoms on the edge of the Core Worlds. These Core Worlds ruled the galaxy but players, as barbarian Star Empires, attempted to bring about their downfall.
In Core Worlds: Empires, six factions have risen from the ashes of rebellion. Now, tentatively allied by war, each kingdom now seeks to consolidate their power and become the strongest dominion in the cosmos!
Core Worlds: Empires is a worker placement game for 2-6 players in which each player takes on the role of a unique worker representative of their Star Empire, along with three generic ambassadors.
Players will receive new ambassadors as the game progresses. although the number of 'workers' doesn't change. Players also have the option of upgrading their ambassadors to heroes in order to improve the efficiency of their workers!
While Core Worlds: Empires is a stand-alone game with different mechanics to the original, however, it can be played after Core Worlds to create one massive narrative sage, which is pretty cool. It's still int he deep development stage, but this is certainly a game to watch for 2019. You can have a look at the teaser announcement here.
