In a twist on the normal format for Unmatched, Restoration Games have been working on a new cooperative take on their board game series. Unmatched Adventures will throw you into some Pulpy awesomeness as you explore Tales To Amaze with your friends.
Unmatched Adventures: Tales To Amaze // Restoration Games
In this one-to-four-player game, you and your companions will take on the role of characters like Annie Christmas, Jill Trent, Golden Bat and Nikola Tesla as you battle against Pulp foes like Mothman, the Martian Invader and their various minions!
Unmatched is normally a head-to-head or team-based game where you compete against each other. In Unmatched Adventures, things are changed up as you instead work together to battle the different villains and achieve your objectives. A simple AI system is used to work out what the villain and their minions do on a given turn using a simple targeting system. The core of your Unmatched experience remains the same though with the use of a card deck and unique player powers which change up gameplay.

The set comes with four heroes for you to play as. Nikola Tesla uses powerful electrical attacks and builds up energy whilst Annie Christmas gets stronger when fighting from behind. Golden Bat is the world's first superhero and brings all manner of powers to the tabletop whilst Jill Trent uses her collection of gizmos to overwhelm the enemy.
What's also nice is that because all of the Unmatched games are linked in their mechanics, your heroes from other sets can be used with Unmatched Adventures and vice versa. Pretty awesome!
Cooperative was certainly the way to go with Unmatched and it will be fun to see what else they throw into the mix as Unmatched Adventures inevitably expands.
Will you be giving this a go?

Golden Bat? I’m in. Golden Bat originated in Japan. Not just the first superhero, but whose name came from cancer sticks and was used to sell candy to children! : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Golden_Bat
