WizKids Talk Heroes Of Dominaria, New MTG Board Game
March 14, 2018 by brennon
WizKids has dropped more details about the upcoming board game, Heroes Of Dominaria which is set in the Fantasy realms of Magic: The Gathering.
"In Magic: The Gathering: Heroes of Dominaria Board Game, players take on the role of a powerful Hero as they travel to the lands of Dominaria. As the player explores the ancient lands, they will need to build sites, rediscover lost artefacts, and confront the sinister Cabal in order to gain the resources needed to save the multiverse before rival Heroes do."
The game will be Euro-themed in terms of its mechanics and play with between two and four players. The real heart of the game lies in the strategic decisions you make, removed from luck based mechanics, that will help you summon heroes to your side, draw on powerful magical artefacts and more.
Heroes Of Dominara will be presented in both Standard and Premium with the Premium box coming with four pre-painted miniatures representing iconic Magic The Gathering heroes.
Miniature Releases
There will also be a new set of miniatures for Magic: The Gathering Creature Forge: Overwhelming Swarm.
These 'Token Sets' will cover the likes of Angels, Soldiers, Goblins, Zombies, Bears, Dragons, Dinosaurs and give you something more intriguing to look at on the tabletop as opposed to the simple cards and such that you have been using until now. I like that this adds another level of dynamism to games of Magic and makes them a bit more of a spectacle.
Watch out for the release of the Token Sets in July 2018 and the board game later in August.
Will you be picking these new products up later this year?
