WizKids Announce New D&D Waterdeep Board Game
October 5, 2018 by cassn
Dungeons & Dragons Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage Board Game is based on the Dungeon & Dragons adventure book of the same name, where players enter Skullport in the Undermountain to battle the evil Wizard Halaster Blackcloak. In this board game iteration, players must battle monsters, avoid traps and treasure hunt through multiple scenarios and quests.
The game contains 42 miniatures, hero and villain tiles, a d20, 40 interlocking dungeon tiles, 5 double-sized tiles, 225 cards, hundreds of tokens and a rulebook and adventure book. The game can even be played in solo mode, but with this sort of quest, it's more fun to play co-operatively. Dungeons & Dragons Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage can host up to five players on their quest.
There's also a choice of the Standard or Premium Edition - with the Premium Edition providing fully painted miniatures, while the Standard Edition only provides single-colour. However, if you're a keen hobbyist, the idea of 42 shiny new D&D miniatures to paint might just fill you with geek glee!
WizKids is set to release both editions at the beginning of March, so watch this space!

Ooh new dungeon delving in the forgotten realms Nice.
I have way too many dungeon crawlers sat in their boxes never being played. I will look forward to adding this to that pile!
