Bother Bilbo With Weta’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Party
April 29, 2020 by brennon
The team from Weta Workshop have previewed a new board game for you to dive into if you're a fan of The Hobbit! An Unexpected Party takes place during one of the opening scenes of the story where the Dwarves party and sing in Bilbo's home.
This game has been designed by Ian Luxmoore and Jarratt Gray and features artwork from The Hobbit senior concept artist, Daniel Falconer. Two-to-four players are able to sit down at the tabletop and play through this scene, trying to complete the lines of the song, “The Things Bilbo Hates" before they bother Bilbo too much!
You'll spend the game blundering around Bag End and generally making a mess so you'll need to keep an eye on the chaos. The person who has done the best job of rousing Bilbo from his comfortable life and getting him excited for an adventure will be the grand winner.
The game looks nice and vibrant and seems like it could be a great choice for someone who wants to play a few Middle-earth themed games with their family. I look forward to trying this one out as I am a fan of Middle-earth games, whatever they might be.
Will you be giving this a go?

This looks a lot of fun and love the artwork ?
That look a fun game to play.
Obviously got a family vibe about it but I really like Weta. I’d say it will be a happy little adventure
