Happy Sunday!
@dignity @brennon Nice work on your Warmachine and Hordes miniatures guys! I look forward to seeing some WM/H battle reports from you.
Thanks @iplay40k – looking forward to painting the rest of the Trollbloods I have and then getting in some more practise games.
The giant looks more Runequest/Glorantha than D&D
Oops that should really have said ‘reminds me more of…’
Yes can see it in the big rubble
I would buy that sarissa terrain and use it for Fallout minis. ^^
Happy Sunday!!
There’s a painted preview of the giant on the gf9 site… http://www.gf9-dnd.com/miniatures/tabid/86/entryid/314/Default.aspx
Limited to 1500?
Ruth Wilson (Luther tv series) is in that time commanders clip.
Haha yes! When I was watching through it again a few months ago I recognised her!
I will reserve judgement on the pulposaurus Conan Rise of the Monters until more info is out, the first go around they had on Kickstarter was distinctly underwhelming.
Wow, that was a lot of things like that and stuff like that
Snap Nerd Test:
Has anyone else spotted the Luther Link? Cryptic answers below only so as not to spoil it for others.
Damn – took too long to post – toshkein got in there…
Happy Sunday..
The Star trek trailer was TEST footage, put together in 5 days for Comic con, That why the quality of the cgi is so low, Also the ship design is not locked down and they have not said when the show is set, the ship looks like its post Enterprise but their are element from later time periods as well
Aye, like a design ‘sketch’ 🙂
Certainly good to know – as early footage it got me excited for more Star Trek on TV more than anything.
The films are great but it would be good to see it go episodic again too.
Great show, quite interested in the armoured core but i’m with Lloyd, if everyone is taking their own turns when ever they like how does it not descend into chaos? I would like to see a play through video at some point.
On the robust terrain front I liked the adobe building but I was waiting for that to land on Justin’s mini’s
Joey Berry is going to be on the BBC 🙂
@dignity your Cygnar and Khador starter sets look awesome man 🙂
@brennon An AoS points game? I cannot wait.
Aye it was fun – need to try and get more games in and see what it’s like with other armies. Might crack out the old Dwarfs to see how they fare.
Justin…
Nice to see the Warmachine moving on,
Loyd NO TRAINS man.
Purple was a very expensive dye, @lloyd, that’s why it’s traditionally associated with royalty. Your average legionnaire wouldn’t be in purple. As for what they did wear, as tends to be the case the evidence is very limited, and much is made of very little. I believe there are fragments of red tunics which survive, red was a cheap dye, and it was a common colour for military uniforms, the Spartans and their red cloaks being a famous example, so red is what we get depicted.
I remember reading about some tunics being depicted on some funerary relics. The colours were probably faded but I think a brownish red was mentioned ( l looked this up and it’s a colour that would come from the madder root/ Rubia plant and was very common in the Old world and was used as a red dye up until the 19th century) After that unbleached linen would probably a very common colour for tunics. After that…who knows. There are some mentions of Romano British sailors in the 3rd century dying their tunics go match the colour of the sea… Read more »
Blue to green
Aye, blue sails so they could intercept Saxons and Irish 🙂
I think Augustus give Agrippa a special blue uniform/flag after Actium (?)
Aye, Tyrian Purple was restricted to those with aristocratic privilege/special imperial office.
Trajan had purple sails on his bling war-galley 🙂
Yogscast already did Fantasy Time commanders

Loved Time Commander before but that video is something else!! Awesome, subscribed straight away!!
Yeah it was a good watch – would be nice to see them do it again.
“Did you have a gaming day or did you have tea party?”
Wait, there’s a difference?
Happy Sunday!
You guys really have to do the Time Commanders thing! It’d be awesome! Apply now.
Okay .. to my knowledge we’ve never had Time Commanders in Australia (which is odd because we usually get a lot of the BBC stuff) BUT you three have to enter , really , it would be great
I love the “but what if we’re shite at it?” from Lloyd 😀
Yeah … but that’d be half the fun =D
Like most computer games, I’d not heard of Armored Core. The idea of porting an RTS game to the tabletop sounds fascinating though. I’ll definitely have a look.
Good show guys. The giant just does look like a scaled up 28mm model. The leather would not like that for a start. It would take more cow hides stitched together to get areas that large and it would have to be shown in the model. The proportions should be slightly different to the normal sized guy as well. The laws of physics are different with bigger models. Anyway, I digress. Your Warmachine stuff looks great. I am looking forward to seeing how it evolves. I currently have the Menoth battle box and was very happy with what I got… Read more »
Re the Storm Giant , DD doesn’t need models! Its ROLEPLAYING not tabletop.
Some people like playing with models when they play D&D – it just helps them visualise things and they get to paint their heroes up 🙂
I don’t use miniatures; we just have a little white board where we sketch out the battlefields when it comes to combat.
Miniatures were fun though BUT it does lead to people deviating towards ‘tactical’ placement and all sorts rather than just going for it.
