The first Happy Sunday for today. jammie dance
When the show starts and the back stage badge is on the screen you can here Az say ” come on.. everyone up..do it properly, One,Two……” Then you all appear with your Happy Sunday
Maybe a friendly competition is in order for the weirdest suggestion people can think of what Az is referring to
Hehe see behind the curtain there as we try and maintain the interweaved magic mirror connection with Ben 😛 Az
I do like the Iberian Cavalry and especially the shields. I’m sure I’ve seen them as transfers on the Victrix site
they’re LBMS transfers mate. Victrix sell them from their site as well though
Happy Sunday!
Am I allowed to say that, yet again after 40 years of watching Star Wars films at the cinema, just how underwhelmed I was by the Last Jedi – without getting lynched?
Azul is this year’s family board game. Simple enough rules to get everyone playing, deep enough to last.
Still haven’t had a chance to play this I’m sad to say @coxjul 🙁 Az
After many years of getting gaming stuff for Christmas. I have come to the conclusion that cold hard cash is the way to go so you can get what you really want
Good old Bank of England vouchers
Well watched through it all and got to commenting 😀
Been awhile since I got through everything a commented before page two or three was down below. I haven’t actually gotten myself anything or stuff for people, a first this year. But I mean with the Kickstarter stuff coming in do you need to I mean your getting everything coming in anyway and that has more than tied me over 🙂
Kingdom death here we come woo woo. The paint train has no breaks.
You could always do a bluey grey rather than brown wash over white if you want to get tones of white without it looking dirty – which is probably why what Justin did that worked on his models wouldn’t work on something like Captain America (especially with the surrounding blue).
Vallejo have a useful light grey wash for that purpose and any deeper shadows/recesses can be painted in using a diluted black tone/wash.
I recently tried painting white on some Napoleonics with a base coat of flat white and just a light wash of Vallejo Model Wash Light Grey. I think it looks quite nice and all you need afterwards is some light dry brush on the edges. Absolutely agree with Justin, PLAY WITH THE MINI!!!!!! Gift idea of paint organizer, Brilliant!!! My wife is big on neatness! I always try to get the daughter to suggest stuff to the wife, now that she is 15 it works pretty well. Other thing I do is focus on rule books, paints, brushes and hobby… Read more »
A tip to painting white is to start with a grey base coat and work up to white high lights, never start with white as you’ve got no where to go.
I’ll try and do a simple step by step un the forum iver xmas as I have some Napoleonic brits to paint.
Can go down and shade. Don’t have to start grey.
The dogs are just jealous that they can’t play to.
We have a dog and he just loves minis and terrain stuff. He always wants to see the new boxes that come in and he likes to get a table view if we play a game. Luckily I had no incidents of him attacking the minis.
Happy sunday!
Why is Shrek in the pic?
?bens the hulk? someone dist. dwarfs one to often.
I have many layers. I’m not just Hulk, sometimes I’m Shrek.
Ben’s “Onion Man!”
Mass Battle Marvel – It would be great to act out the WW2 elements of the Captain America movies. A Bolt Action / Konflict ’47 style game but with Red Skull and the Germans vs Captain America, The Howling Commandoes and the Americans.
John already has a ton of tanks and the recently painted SS minis – Make my Christmas wish battle report happen Beasts of War 🙂
I have that T-Shirt Az. (Sadly in XXXL) Let the good times roll. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you too sir 🙂
Typhus – Play with the model Justin. Even play it with the scenic base!? He is the leader of your force (most likely) and will be the enemies focus whether he is 32mm high of 3 inches high I don’t think it really matters, but definitely get some play out of him. I made my own Typhus out of a converted Lord of Contagion, but your gift from John is far better than the latest Typhus plastic ‘jazz hands, on parade’ sculpt in my opinion.
@suetoniuspaullinus – My dog Arya hasn’t eaten any minis yet, but she did bite into a pot of Nulin Oil as a puppy. The carpet never truly came clean, but she’s a black Labradoodle so if I hadn’t seen her do it she probably would have gotten off scott free, because I am not beyond dropping or treading on a bottle of paint myself. 🙂
Play with the FW mini
the Marvels Miniature game is amazing its a shame that when knight models lost the IP that they had to wipe out all cases of buying them from there site with no notice. i have since then with lots of haggling collected the entire range and is a great game. Also it a game that works well on urban city terrain, the battle for New York or XMen and Evil Mutants. One down side is that there is now options for words of evil minions to fight as its really only for heroes and villains yet in the DC Universe… Read more »
I really enjoyed playing KM’s Marvel game, and still have all my stuff. The DC rules are the most updated version. I’ve found playing DC vs Marvel, DC is much more powerful. I’d like to see someone pickup the license again
Christmas – Wife didn’t want to double up on anything I already have, so told me know minis, nothing bulky, £30 – go spend. I got the Dark Angels codex and some Ghost Tint Minitaire (Badger) paints. I saw the paints in one of John’s Astral Knights videos. They were expensive on ebay (£8 – £12 per bottle!) but a company called Barwell BodyWorks were selling them for £3 pound each plus postage in the UK. Happy bunny – Will be sneaking a purchase of the new easy build Deathguard Blight Hauler and a easy build Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought with… Read more »
Xmas – my kids have no clue what kits I have or even what games I’m interested in , so its ca$h for Dad again this year . Hopefully I can pay off my credit card purchases lol . Well earned golden buttons , love the Unicorn . I’ve got one that is just waiting to be painted , but just haven’t got the skill to try a white shiny horse .. Dirty brown horses I got covered
Given FFG’s links to Disney – via their Star Wars license – I wonder if they will start doing Marvel games at some point? It might be why Knight Models lost the rights.
great show guys, loved the hamper selections.
Happy sunday!
Oh, @dignity , play with it!
the Horus Heresy Typhon miniature is a thing of beauty, from presentation to sculpt.
resin can be a hard work to prep but the results are worth the TLC.
i’d use him for sure, i’d just be careful.
