Now my Sunday can officially begin.
Sure sign that I have stayed up too late on Saturday night painting my Team Yankee Boot Camp T-72s … the Sunday XLBS is already up. 😐
Happy Sunday!!!
Happy Sunday!
The Luftwaffe rocket troops for Dust are new. I’ve not played with them yet but I understand their rules will be different from the Allied jump troops.
Happy Sunday
“who could be afraid of aquaman” who could be afraid of a between wonder woman and superman strength level, nearly invulnerable, telepathic barbarian king?
Who’s domain is 75% of the planets habitable territory that he protects more or less on his own, whilst the rest of the world has hundreds of heroes to defend it…..
If Ben really wants to play a board game based on trucking, I’d recommend The Great Heartland Hauling Co.that came out a couple years ago.

Well that ending was random 😛
I thought it was a bit brilliant
Anyone else have the video just stop just after 27 minute mark?
yeh just cut for me too at that time
yep just did it at 27:43mins
Glad it wasn’t just me.
The video stopped, but it kept running and then carried on after a few seconds.
justin its two magnets, at about 36sec mark on the vid you clearly see him stick two washers to it lol, happy sunday!
Yes had issues around 27 minute mark.. Got going again about 29 minutes. Great ending!!! Poor Ben
@ Justin some one need to get you a panzer 4 1/35 From Dragon ..
Ahhh – feel sorry for Ben – after all our hobby is our hobby 🙂 I’m with John on the whole modern warfare thing but that’s a personal choice and something we’ve gone over before on this site so not an argument I want to start up again. Happy sunday all.
How long did it take Ben to notice
@lloyd 15mm is pretty standard for Ancients so there is a lot of stuff out there and the usual basing tends to be 4 figures per base or three for cavalry.
However still looks even better at 6mm 😉
ok i should have watched more…lol
yes there are a lot of 6mm ancient stuff Baccus do some amazing 6mm Romans
https://www.baccus6mm.com/catalogue/TheRomans/EarlyImperialRome/
@johnlyons including transfers
To jump onto the 6mm bandwagon, here’s a link to my 6mm ACW 🙂 Awesome scale, really gives the feeling of mass to an army and also paints quick!

Lovely work
My XLBS got stuck at 15 minutes! Now enjoying a frozen still of Justin and John
Justin is wrong! Simple ancient armies look fantastic in a shield wall so the shields are very important. Pick figures that you can get transfers for http://www.littlebigmenstudios.com/catalog/index.php 6mm ancients Baccus does a huge range but painting them is a little soul destroying I’m my opinion. 10mm Pendraken, Magister Millitum, Old Glory and Newline designs do ancients. some of these are just as good as 15mm miniatures and are half the price. In 15mm you are split for choice and you still have flank charges and manoeuvring on a normal 6×4 board. 28mm ancients is just like fantasy games at the… Read more »
Painting 6mm is only soul destroying if you try and paint them like larger scales
I sadly havn’t done it in a while, but 6mm painting is the opposite of soul destroying. You can plough through your painting backlog and churn out units really quickly. You don’t sit down for a painting session with 28mm and stand up again with a finished unit very often!
And of course, with some simple techniques you can make the scale look really cool.
Brilliant!
Definitely the best plan to go for anytime someone starts talking about… zzzz… moving… zzzz… cargo…. zzzz…
Huh? What? Where am I?
Oh yeah.
Anyway, I’m in total agreement with Lloyd and John about half-arsing the Roman legions – you’ve got to do it properly.
P.S. Base those ogres, Justin!
Great show guys, and that ending was hilarious.
I used to have a 15mm Early Imperial Roman army back when I was playing Field of Glory. The shield transfers are pretty easy to put on and as the systems at that scale tend to abstract a lot of troops onto a base then it isn’t that many models you need. Ancient battles tended to be fought on open spaces, and at the smaller scale the opportunities for nice looking tables tend to be for modelling in contours and hills and whatnot. Alternatively, you could model a siege such as the one at Alesia.
I completely agree with Lloyd on the aesthetics on Dust and how they should at least resemble the period of time. Dust has become interesting to me all of a sudden after just finishing the new Wolfenstein games and I just fell in love with the aesthetic and designs of the the German equipment which surprised me because I love history a lot and often over look pulpy or Weird World War type stuff in favor of historical stuff. However I think you would be interested to know Lloyd in response to having vehicles from WW2 in dust to tie… Read more »
My wife is currently watching a repeat of last nights X-Factor, Thank you BoW for saving me from the hell that is Simon Cowell and Chums!
Happy Sunday – I have seen ancients in 6 mm – time permitting I would love to do a Vikings/Saxons army in that scale to make it look like a real battle rather than a skirmish at 28 mm
Now that was funny 🙂
Hilarious folks, best possible exit ever 😎 truly epic! Poor Ben tho but I’m sure he’s still talking and still hasn’t realised.. I’m really tempted by those Romans as well. I’ve starterd so many attempts in 28mm but never finished a single one. 15s are so much faster to paint and the transfers seem really easy. But what I see as greatest advantage is to have everything needed in one package, not too pricey and not taking too much space. I think I’ll give it a go. Not worried about scenery too much as there is more for 15mm than… Read more »
