It’s the Weekender! It’s the return of Warren. The Star Wars Hobby Weekend is looming close. It starts next Friday…….wait next Friday???? On FRIDAY the 13th??? How did I miss that? That’s a bad day for the Templars you know! I’m just going to have to be very careful and maybe not handle any hobby knives? Can that happen? Tune in next week and see! Really looking forward to the second OTT International Hobby Weekend. A lot of folks on the internet have said off handed things about the new 40k Ad-Mech Flier, but I kind of like it. Also,… Read more »
Was thinking that 40k Ad-Mech Flier would do fine for a Dune game, just need to find a Spice Harvester in 28mm (it should only be about 6 foot long) 😀
Mornin all
I can’t believe you haven’t seen this @warzan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=to2SMng4u1k
It’s a bit overdone for my taste…
Morning chaps, @warzan – the Triumph of St Katherine is a bit of a beast. The sword bearer at the front has so many attacks of the 14 the model starts with, you get 6 bolt pistols, 18 wounds, and the unit carries a set of Relics that bestow additional abilities tied to the other Orders of Sisters. One neat element is how the model degrades as it takes wounds like a vehicle, and the number of relics you can use will go down (but you decide which rules to discard), but if you heal they can go back up… Read more »
It’s finally the Weekend!
Time to shuffle past the GW news to find something interesting…
Both Gloomhaven announcements look a good move. Not got the original game, so being able to pick up Frosthaven as a stand-alone is great news.
Aye it should be a good shout for folks. I think they’ve been playing it quite smart with how they’re handling it as a whole.
Yep! Jaws of the Lion, the less expensive set targeted towards newer players, is long overdue! GH is a pretty complicated game, and, even though you get several expansions worth of content, its price tag can be pretty off-putting. I’m glad that Jaws can be played by veteran GH gamers, and doesn’t have the idiosyncrasies that Forgotten Circles has.
Bad stereotypical joke coming: should @dignity be made to stand upside down to make the Aussie mdf kits…
AdMech Archaeopter- I think @warzan almost hit the nail on the head with his view of how the AdMech would have come up with the design. AdMech are my favourite faction – love them. But I have had to reframe them slightly since the models have come out. Yes they are hi tech, with a design and manufacturing capability unmatched in the imperium. However, their big motivation is that they worship ancient technology, believing it far superior to ‘modern’ tech. It gives a slightly comical element to them from the perspective of others in the imperium. Yes they are clever… Read more »
I haven’t read the trilogy but the flapocopter is a great fit for the eccentric tech I read in the Horus Heresy books. They’re happy to churn out flying sheds and tracked boxes with guns for the rest of the Imperium but they keep the wacky stuff for themselves. I love Ad Mech and I love this model.
100%
The trilogy is really good actually. I’ve been reading them again and with hindsight, now the models are out, the tech priests seem to have even more character.
That’s me sold! I’ve ordered the book, will have a read over Christmas
Vader knows what you will get for christmas Warren.
….
Because he’s felt your presence.
2020 ?
Where’s my cyberdeck ?
No Cyber-implants …
Back of the queue please some of us have been waiting for our personal rocket packs since the mid 70’s and getting impatient
The promised cyberpunk dystopia is coming along nicely though
A couple for ideas from my perspective for the Ad Mech vehicle. If you wanted a silent entry to attack a facility this would allow them to glide but with far more adjustability due to the hydraulic piston set up. I would like to mention that different worlds make for different flight characteristics. Here on Earth, we have a very specific set of rules to follow to achieve flight. From angles of attack to specific gravity and ratios of lift. The helicopter we have designed to be sent to Mars next year has very different characteristics. Some changes have been… Read more »
I quite like the look of it heh – I think it suits their aesthetic pretty well and should be nice to see painted up in different styles. It has to stand out from other stuff in the range, especially the more militaristic stuff of the Imperium.
Plus, I like the idea that there is some mad scientist who created it heh
I like the flyer, looks well cool
Ad mech flyer would look good in Batman
thanks for the show. BTW I like the flyer!
don’t forget el cid he was tied to his horse and sent out at the head of the charge, in the film anyway.
I like the new flyer as it could fold its wings to outmanoeuvre enemy’s or obstacles when fighting.
Happy weekends guys!
Hope Warren has some more about Bob Lamar fascinating cant get enough .
To get around the Repentia not being able to fit into their armour again, I came up with this. You’ll need this: https://youtu.be/qJdMjRHRLfg Luke Million – Arnold ~~~ On a world far different from our own, where people toil away in sweaty gyms to better survive the dangers of the 41st millennium, instead of obtaining a well lit selfie for instagram likes. In one such setting the archaic sounds of 80’s themed beats blear over the clang of gym equipment and grunts sounding in time with a heavy Austrian accent; Down, Up, Down, Up, Come on more energy! An attendant… Read more »
Bob Lazar i meant …or was it Lazer
People have been asking for a Mechanicus transport, let’s get a hovercraft, stick some gribbly bits on and it will sell…… People have been asking for a Mechanicus flyer, let’s just copy this Da Vinci thing, stick some gribbly bits on and it will sell……. I don’t feel any of the latest Mechanicus releases fit in with the existing lore.
Another Great Weekender and interesting topics and miniatures. The Mechanicus flyer looks like something from Dune or Lexx that humped a Dark Eldar vehicle and that is the bastard offspring. Gloomhaven is getting more versions!
