Weekender: Ace Myth Minis, Prodos Head Sculpts & The 100th Episode!
May 30, 2015 by warzan
After the insanity that was the Bolt Action Boot Camp we're back with The Weekender and it's 100th Episode of the show today!
100 Episodes!
It seems so long ago that we set up the first episode of The Weekender with one camera and a handful of topics to talk about. We talk about the show, the work that goes into it and maybe even feel a little bit proud!
Warpath 2 Alpha
Last week also saw the exclusive launch for Backstagers of the Warpath 2 Alpha Rules by Mantic Games. If you want to pick those up then head over there with a Backstage Account and download them to give them a go.
UK Games Expo Live Blog
This weekend also sees the UK Games Expo kick off in Birmingham England and we have Ben over there to run a Live Blog for us of the days events. It should all kick off at 11am barring any major problems so keep an eye out.
Myth Miniatures
One of our community members, Jay Adan, has painted up a superb set of Myth miniatures and we take some time to delve into his collection and give it the attention it deserves!
You can follow along with a great thread on the forums called 'What Are You Painting Now?' which is great for seeing new projects.
World Wide D-Day Campaign
Don't forget that as well as the World Wide D-Day Campaign kicking off in the forums with the help of chrisg and oriskany we're also going to be seeing a new article series on Mondays from oriskany himself!
Keep an eye out for it and learn a bit more about what it's all about.
Warren & Justin In Miniature Form
In a massive ego boost both Warren and Justin have been turned into miniatures. Warren shows off his Slaughter Ball miniatures while both of them have also had their heads sculpted up by Prodos Games using the new service they provide.
Winners!
Last but not least we have some winners. The overall victor of the Battlezones Challenge is announced, we give away the Mars Attacks Mega Bundle AND all the winners from the Live Blog who got a D-Day Firefight Set will be revealed too.
If you want to claim a prize use the form HERE.
Have a great weekend folks!

It’s the weekender, awesome.
Happy 100.
Cracking show fellas, especially the last bit 😉
Thanks to everyone who voted for my designs! Once the Deadzone Infestation Kickstarter rewards land I’ll be combining the new industrial Battlezones with what I’ve already built, and what I’ve bought since, plus the awesome competition prize and creating some next level terrain madness.
It might take a while but watch this space…
…and hell yes I’d love to come and play Wargames Lego with you guys!
Awesome Job Tony! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
100, you don’t look a day over 99. Congratulations to all at BOW
What an accomplishment, what a milestone. 100 episodes! Congratulations on such an epic achievement. I also like the “Mini-heads” of Justin and Warren. I look forward to the eastern front Bolt Action game pitting “Kommissar Warrenov” and his Red Army guards against Herr “Oberleutnant Justinberg” and his German armored grenadiers!
Happy Saturday to all.
Is anyone playing out Horsa Bridge for the D-Day campaign?
Not yet, @guppysparks . We have obviously had a battle at Pegasus Bridge, and Chris Goddard is running at a battle at nearby Ranville (now modified in light of the “upset” at Pegasus). But nothing on Horsa Bridge itself yet.
100 episodes – quite a milestone guys, well done. D.x
HAPPY 100 xxxxxx
And now onto the next 100
Well done for making it to a ton! Considering how difficult things were just a short while ago with the move back from Essex, and not knowing if BOW was going to even stay viable, you guys have gone from strength to strength. Good work fellas, keep it up, the community needs guys like you!
Congratulations on reaching episode 100, guys! Those Prodos heads are looking great- I like the idea of literally putting my gaming group into our semi-regular games of Advanced Heroquest (and an evil wizard for myself as GM to stand menacingly off-table!)… Speaking of classic games, I’ve been on a bit of a nostalgia trip and planning on getting back into Necromunda and it gave me an idea for BOW- how about a series of ‘Veteran Weekends’ in a similar vein to the Boot-Camps where players of Mordheim, Necromunda, Gorkamorka etc get together to relive past glories and play a mini-campaign… Read more »
Love this idea, might be tricky getting hold of the games though.
We are considering making the venue/accommodation/catering available for outside clubs and groups who want to do weekend gaming trips and getaways. So this might fit well into that 🙂
The rat tail thing is a Rat King. Would make a very different mini. Don’t look at any photos online over breakfast. Really gross.
Congratulations on the first 100 episodes.
Happy 100! So thrilled that you guys liked the hats! Maybe if you do a Wolsung boot camp Lefty and Sons can supply some headgear.
@warzen Thank you the kind words. Love love love BoW and all you guys stand for!

Congrats on a century of weekender videos guys.
@warzan reasonably new to the site so was wondering where the name Turn 8 comes from?
It’s kind of like the. 19th hole
40k had upto 7 turns so turn 8 was a natter and a drink 🙂
Is checking out produs now
Congratulations on making it to a century.
Look forward to watching the next 100! 🙂
Congrats Guys,
Jack and I are so thrilled to have the hats join the 100th episode. We are super fans of the show and website. It is 2:37 AM here in Texas and I am tearing up seeing the pic of gorgeous little Savanna with her Scooby Doo lunchbox. We can’t thank you enough for all of the kind words about the hats. We really admire your commitment to sharing the love of gaming. Thanks again, Deanna (Lefty)
Congrats on reaching the 100 episode milestone!
Happy 100th!
And did I catch a glimpse of my DDay board just there?! 😀
Yes you did! They used some images from the upcoming articles. Like I was saying in the thread, the more materials you send, the more “famous” we can make you! 🙂
Happy 100th guys.
hear, hear… *raisesGlas*.
100 episodes. What a milestone. Congratulations to all beasts and former beasts (like Darrel, Andy, etc.). Looking back I’m only a backstager for like 2/3rd of this road, but it is the project I would support again any day of the week. Once a backstager, always a backstager.
Now what are you planning for the 100st XLBS?
Hippy 100th episode!
Sorry chaps, but they bottom left Warren (@approx 1hr) so belongs on a Dad’s army figure, one of the unnamed extras that make up the Home Guard unit of Walmington-on-Sea
HAPPY 100!!! Well done guys. To see what you have built there is properly impressive. Here’s to the next 100!!
Congrats on the 100th show………
Does this mean I need to send @warzan more ANZAC bikkies??
