Watch Out For Teotihuacan: City Of Gods This Year
March 12, 2018 by brennon
Keep an eye out for the worker placement and tile placement game, Teotihuacan: City Of Gods which is coming out later this year from NSKN Games.
Games looking into, and being inspired by other civilisations are always a welcome sight and Teotihuacan: City Of Gods seems to be very stylish, even from the early looks we've had at the game online.
"In Teotihuacan: City of Gods, each player commands a force of worker dice, which grow in strength with every move. On your turn, you move a worker around a modular board, always choosing one of two areas of the location tile you land on: one offering you an action (and a worker upgrade), the other providing you with a powerful bonus (but without an upgrade).
While managing their workforce and resources, players develop new technologies, climb the steps of the three great temples, build houses for the inhabitants of the city, and raise the legendary and breath-taking Pyramid of the Sun in the centre of the city."
The choices offered up to you by each of those location tiles that you land on certainly sounds like it will inspire some quick decision making and make you think about each of your turns in advance, especially if your actions can help lock out someone else's big play.
There appear to be a lot of moving parts in this game, which is certainly no bad thing, and a race to be the player with the most fame at the end of the game.
I will be keeping an eye out for this one at conventions this year.
What about you?
