Vanguard: Normandy is a one-to-four player World War II board game where you'll be fighting across the fields and towns of Normandy during 1944.
"The game focuses on the struggle between the US and German armies as they battle for victory in Normandy during the summer of 1944. Each side will have access to a large variety of troops, vehicles, and armour, represented by the fantastically detailed, pre-assembled gaming pieces, that they will use to capture key objectives. The reversible hex map tiles have millions of possible combinations, ensuring no two battlefields are alike, and feature a wide range of terrain features, from roads, hills, and woodlands to towns and villages."
The game uses Bolt Action-style mechanics and can be played in a full solo mode where you take on the role of the US Army during the period.
Game In Progress (Pre-Production) // Vanguard: Normandy
There is a full multiplayer campaign mission for you to play through inspired by Historical events and this is all played out with loads of new World War II gaming pieces like those you see above representing troops and vehicles for both the US and the Germans. No glue or paint is required since this is a board game first and means that you can just jump in and start playing.

Because of the nature of the way the game plays, you have plenty of options for troops and vehicles as well as battlegrounds ensuring that you have diverse battles to play out each time you sit down to play.

When diving into Vanguard: Normandy, you'll make use of familiar mechanics like Order Dice and Pinning but you'll also be dealing with Requisition points and working out the best way to support your armies as well as run them in battle. Victory is assured by reaching 100 victory points first and that can be done by controlling sectors of the battlefield rather than just blowing your opponent away.

The idea behind creating a board game comes from the want to bring World War II to the tabletop for people who don't want to assemble and paint miniatures. It also gives folks an insight into the mechanics of Bolt Action and might perhaps persuade them that all the hobby elements aren't that bad at all!
This will also be Warlord Games' first Kickstarter and should allow them to reach a wider audience on the platform. It will be intriguing to find out more about the game and the rules behind it. It seems to have gone down well with gamers at different events over the last few months so we shall see what happens when it hits Kickstarter on 5th November next week.

The BA alternating sequence used in a board game seems cool.
