Warlord Games has announced the launch date for their first board game Kickstarter. Vanguard: Normandy will be coming to Kickstarter 1st October, offering up a different take on World War II from Warlord Games.

Vanguard: Normandy is a one-to-four-player game from the Bolt Action team. It features Dice Activation which will be familiar to folks alongside a new host of epic-scale miniatures and Historical campaign books.

The game has been designed to be quick and simple with lots of ways to generate unique battlefields due to the hex maps (see above). You then pick a faction and you're ready to go! For fans of neat miniatures, you've got some great infantry and tanks for you to push around the tabletop. You don't need to assemble or paint these figures but I reckon that a lot of folks will be cracking out their paints.

Warlord Games has also noted that Vanguard: Normandy will come with a dedicated solo-play mode so you can dive in and play the game without having to find an opponent. This could be a great way to learn the rules before bringing a friend into the game.
Are you going to be backing Vanguard: Normandy when it hits Kickstarter 1st October?

Tonks!
Hopefully the game pieces shown on the board are prototypes . Zooming in the tanks look like crap ( wheel sets / stowage ) and the infantry piece has a few imperfections from a bad 3D print . Not impressed
I would imagine those are indeed early prototypes. You can see the board looks similarly a prototype as well.
A kickstarter? Nah.
Looks fun though.
This looks like it could be interesting. I don’t have the bandwidth to get into Bolt Action, but I could do a self-contained boxed game as long as it’s more than just Risk with nicer game pieces (which it looks like it is). I’ll look at the Kickstarter but I’m much more likely to wait and buy it at retail — insanely high shipping costs are making Kickstarter a lot less viable, especially when most online retailers (and even Warlord themselves) are still offering free shipping for larger orders.
I like the idea, pretty sure I’ll back!
