Warhammer Underworlds: Harrowdeep Revealed At Gen Con
September 17, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop has been sharing a whole bunch of news from Gen Con 2021 this year. The first big bit of news that dropped yesterday came with the announcement of Warhammer Underworlds: Harrowdeep which continues the narrative of this skirmish board game.

Much like with previous sets, Harrowdeep gives you everything that you need for diving in and playing out battles between skirmishing forces. You get tokens, dice, rules and more and of course the two factions. Here, Stormcast Eternals take on Kruleboys in a labyrinthine expanse beneath a shadowy sea.
Harrowdeep Contents // Warhammer Underworlds
This forgotten dungeon in the darkness of the Realm Of Shadow (Ulgu), has been lost to darkness and so seems like the perfect place for the forces of Destruction to plot and conspire. That also means that it seems apt to send in the might of Sigmar to burn them away with crackling lightning.
Xandire's Truthseekers // Warhammer Underworlds
The newest miniatures for Warhammer Underworlds match the new forces that were added into Warhammer Age Of Sigmar proper. Xandire's Truthseekers adds a collection of three warriors wearing their Thunderstrike armour, ready to do their duty. You also get that awesome bird companion!
On the other side of things, you have Da Kunnin' Krew who look like they are ready to go hunt down hapless individuals for their twisted prisons.

I like that we're getting another look at the Hobgrots within this set as well as more of the Kruleboys themselves. A very neat look and feel which is nice and different compared to the rest of the Orruk Warclans.
It should be noted that the new season of Warhammer Underworlds brings with it a new format. Rivals gives you new pre-made decks which have been made to be competitive right out of the box. This means if you don't want to do deckbuilding then you can just grab that and give it a shot. The Champions format isn't going anywhere though and you will still be able to deckbuild and do whatever you like.
Are you going to be picking up this new edition of Warhammer Underworlds?

Hobgrots = Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl team incoming – lets start that rumour now!
also that’s a lot of feet on a lot of rocks – are GW just doing this deliberately now?
Discuss.
I’ve noticed in their latest releases that the things people complain about the most, GW tends to do more, while the things people want get pushed to the side, which is a very bass-ackwards marketing strategy. In the past couple years…
What we DON’T want:
-Foot on Rock poses
-More Space Marines
-More Stormcast Eternals
-Complicated, unpaintable models
What we DO want:
-Squats
-Updated Sisters of Battle
-Return of classic Warhammer alien creatures
-Posable infantry models
-Classic Warhammer fantasy models
Agree but I have to say GW can’t stop pushing Sisters of Battle for muuuh diversity stupidity to the point that the Sisters of Battle are near being reduced to an absurd parody rather than the realistic gritty faction they used to be.
These 3 model aside packs should contain quality – high detail, high bells and whistles – models given the price you pay. They should be premium high-detail models with a lot of detail for your “expert” painting experience. Otherwise you’re paying 4 times the price for what is basically a basic model.
Looks a good new dungeoners game with fab figures to game with. But I was half expecting Serenity to appear with the music at the start.
That must be a relief for Stormcast players. They’d had a while since the last release.
that really did make me Laugh out Loud!
Hobgoblins are back! This is good news even if it was just for Underworlds.
they re-introduced(?) their take on Hobgoblins in the last Age of Sigmar launch.
You know if you had an urge to buy lots of yellow skinned orc / goblins!
The models are nice I really like the ork ones. However seems a bit strange to have a water based underworlds and not to put Idoneth Deepkin in the base set I am sure they will appear at some point tho. I have admit to be an bit of a collector when it comes to the underworld kits so I will be getting this one.
