Warhammer Underworlds returns to the tabletop this weekend from the folks at Games Workshop with Harrowdeep. A new season, new rules, new ways of playing and of course some brand new Warhammer Age Of Sigmar miniatures.

Warhammer Underworlds brings its skirmishes to the Realm Of Shadow (Ulgu) where the Stormcast Eternals find themselves facing the Kruleboyz in an undersea labyrinth. On the one side, you have Xandire's Truthseekers who are seeking to bring light to the darkness.

Each of the miniatures in the set is armoured in the new Thunderstrike Armour that has been crafted by the Duardin god, Grugni. You get a nice mixed force which should give you good options for close combat and ranged engagements. I am a big fan of a cloak or hood (and any combination of the two) so it's neat to see that on display here.

As well as the Stormcast Eternals, we also have these dastardly-looking Orruks. Twisted and broken, these evil torturers and butchers have their own ideas as to what to do with the secrets uncovered in the depths of the labyrinth.

I am, as always, a big fan of the miniatures that we get as part of the Warhammer Underworlds range. I think it gives you a good snapshot of a particular faction and lets you have a pop at painting them without diving headfirst into a complete army.

The game of Warhammer Underworlds is pretty good fun too. Quick and easy to play, Warhammer Underworlds is a tight little tactical battle for two players to have a pop at. I like that it has been made a little more accessible with the addition of these Rivals decks. Move all the deckbuilding to the side and just get stuck in with a set of cards right out of the box.
