Warhammer Quest's aptly named Warhammer Age Of Sigmar outing, Cursed City, is going to be returning in 2022. The cooperative Fantasy board game from Games Workshop will be arriving next year alongside some teased expansion content.

The game vanished off the face of the earth when it was initially released, most likely due to shipping and production issues. 2022 will see the game return to the tabletop enabling more people to dive in and play through the adventures of these ragtag heroes as they seek to take down the vampire, Radukar.
Expansions Announced
As well as looking to put an end to Radukar as part of the original Cursed City, it has also been announced that the game will also be getting expansions, much like Blackstone Fortress did. So, if you want to tell more stories in Ulfenkarn, you will be able to do so.
Radukar was mightly annoyed at the way things ended in Ulfenkarn so I'm sure we're going to be seeing his enraged form joining the fight at some point. I am eager to see if the Ven Densts make an appearance too.
Are you going to get yourself a copy when it re-releases?

Well colour me excited.
I might actually have to open my copy now!
I’ve opened my copy, assembled and primed, but that’s as far as I got.
I’d like to hear the explanation as to why they just dropped Cursed City after release.
I doubt we’ll ever hear one. As I mentioned above – I would say it was a logistics thing or had trouble with one of the companies doing their work overseas perhaps.
Well its nice to see it back, I think I only removed the wrapping off mine before it got parked in a dark corner. Time to dust it off and get the paints out.
Literally back from the dead.
Might have to jump on board with this!
I wanted to see if it would be supported before getting it, and it seemed I was wise to wait, if its getting support I’ll be all over it.
Nice many be worth getting to add to heroquest gaming if the price is right.
How am I supposed to feel about this?
I mean, I really hated the way they jerked us around and pretended that the plan was always for none of us to be able to get copies after they had promised ongoing support for the game.
That leaves me feeling burned about a game that seriously isn’t to blame (it was just more lousy PR from a company that often has lousy PR).
But the game itself did look good, and it is very much the kind of game I’d play.
Not to mention some reviews were fairly unkind to the gameplay upon release.
It’s the most bog-standard, by the numbers dungeon crawler there is. If you never played one, or want to play with people that arent boardgamers, it should do fine, but it offers nothing new or fresh, and against normal mobs, it’s just going through the motions, they’re just there to waste your time so you don’t wrap a session up in 30 minutes and feel silly.
Looks like I’ll be resurrecting my painting log when the expansions drop.
I would like to continue the campaign, so will get the expansions, for shure.
Well better late than never I guess.
For those that really wanted this and got excited to be able to explore the Cursed City only not to be able to this is great news. And even if it really isn’t my setting the ability for some to have a second chance at this is nice to hear. Nice for Christmas. But, well, the inability of GW to even hint at acknowledging that there might have been an issue here back in the spring is quite disappointing. It makes the whole press release sound so disingenuous. Things happen and there is no need for a full explanation, to… Read more »
I would normally agree, but I think with the Pandemic and whatever logistical problems that posed at the time, perhaps GW just didn’t know what would happen.
Absolutely I could not agree more. Back then with the lockdown winter and the Suez Canal blockage and the obvious supply chain crisis I would not blame GW for not knowing whether this would would be feasible. And if in doubt don’t say anything. That’s not what I meant though. That was then and this is now. The statement yesterday is silly, to pretend nothing ever happened is silly. Even just a sentence or two – and they’ve done this before in a light hearted way with other delays – that things didn’t go to plan would just make sound… Read more »
I get ya!
Yeah, some kind mention of it being a shambles – even one we acknowledge might have been outside of their control – would have been nice.
The problem and this is not limited to GW but nothing companies say make any difference to the general public. We suspect the problems with the printed material made in china and shipping them to the UK was the issue. They sold more than expected and just could not source a printer with the production to deliver any more. However I have already seen people saying well just get a UK company to printer etc. People have very little understanding of economics in business and how complex it is swtich production. The more you say the more ammo you give… Read more »
