Warhammer Quest: Cursed City Goes Made To Order This Weekend
February 28, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop's Warhammer Quest: Cursed City, which had a rather unfortunate launch, is now going to be available as a Made To Order product this weekend. So, you can be guaranteed a copy if you missed out during the initial run.

This Made To Order window will run from 5th March through to the 20th of March. The game will be exactly the same cost as it was during the initial release (so it escapes any price rises) and if you order during this two week period, you WILL get a copy of the game.
Warhammer Quest: Cursed City Contents // Made To Order
Because of the nature of a Made To Order scheme, you might get your copy of the game later than others but you will still get it. There's no need to head onto eBay and buy an absurdly overpriced version of the game.
Additionally, the folks at Games Workshop have also announced that if you miss this two-week window, there will be a full relaunch of Cursed City later this year. This relaunch will also come alongside new expansions, similar to what we got with Blackstone Fortress.
Another chance to dive into the game if you are eager to do so. I have to say, after playing the game myself a couple of times, I have certainly enjoyed it. It's not as slick as some of the other dungeon delving board games out there but it certainly provides you with a wealth of options. It can get a bit repetitive but there is a certain "Warhammer" charm to the game in the way it plays.
I'd say that if you're a fan of the game design ethos coming out of Games Workshop and you want a dungeon crawler, Cursed City could find a place in your collection. There are plenty of other options out there though like Jaws Of The Lion and the new Descent if you fancy something a bit more polished.
Are you tempted to snap this up during the Made To Order period?

I gave GW some slack on this with supply issues, blocked Suez, etc but however it started it’s ending as “lol fomo bitches”.
Not really FOMO in this case though if that’s what you mean as you’re guaranteed a copy of the game when you order. It won’t “run out”.
“Buy this week or it’s gone forever” is the epitome of fomo
I would agree if they were only making a specific amount. But, they are doing it as Made To Order so you can’t miss out if you want it. I think if you wanted Cursed City but missed out last time then you probably have the means to buy it this time – and it’s a two-week window. I did miss “full relaunch of Cursed City later this year” – that does change it a little. Sorry Ben, send coffee.
Coffee airdrop incoming…
Appreciate it, thanks
I’d still say the way this is marketed is playing strongly on the FOMO card, made to order in a two-week period where you will get one vs some undetermined release later in the year. That later point does change things slightly but it’s still playing on missing out, as you don’t know when you’ll get it when it has a general release or for that point if you’ll be able to get a copy when it does. The whole way this is presented is a marketing tactic to get you to buy it now, probably so it can go… Read more »
Yeah- there is a little hint of FOMO in their rhetoric, but I think the “we’re going to have a full relaunch” changes things a lot.
Marketing is always trying to get you to buy things now. This is more the level of FOMO marketing we see when we don’t call it out as FOMO marketing.
Some interesting hero’s to chose from.
Great to see this making it back out there. Overall a very nice package with some lovely miniatures, still a bit pricey in my view for whats a “board game” in effect but probably great value if your into your GW and Warhammer.
Shame is playing on the FOMO made to order angle and not just going to a general release straight away but at least people can now get it again.
Cant wait for the youtube reviews comparing each piece by piece to find the difference 😀
The general release probably legitimately takes longer. So they could either do this made to order thing or just wait.
I don’t know that pre-orders are necessarily playing on FOMO like people seem to think.
The models are nice, but the game is just mediocre at best.
Add to that the way GW handled the previous release and the price hike, then this is a big fat pass for me.
I am glad to see it back and hopefully we will get some expansions for it in the future. A lot was made of the supply issues at the time and it overshadowed the game. While the game play does have its flaws as Ben suggested it can feel a little repetitive it is still a great game. The models alone are worth buying the box for they are truely amazing if like me your into undead, vampire armies it is a must buy. The fact I can use them in AOS or anygame that you need generic zombies, skelebobs… Read more »
Sorry if I sound stupid, but how do you order it?
I clicked on the link and I couldn’t find any
instructions.
You’re a few days too early.
“Sales will be open for two weeks, from the 5th March to the 20th of March”.
Guess I didn’t read as much as I thought I did. Thank you.
