Roll Your Own Voyages With Postmark Games’ New Roll & Write
December 15, 2021 by brennon
Voyages from Postmark Games has recently finished funding over on Kickstarter so whilst you can't back it, I still wanted to chat about this game. I do love a good roll & write and especially if it does something a little different with the format.
Voyages // Postmark Games
Voyages takes you away to the sea as you dive into adventure and exploration during a time of myth and legend. During a turn, three dice are rolled for all the players at the tabletop (or online) and these are then used to determine which direction you'll head off in and how far you will sail. The third die is then used to work out what your crew are able to do aboard your ship!
How To Play Voyages // Postmark Games
Players will gain victory points from all manner of different things. You could visit different islands and gather goods and gold or train up your sailors so that you can clash with the deadly and mysterious Dread!

Each of the different maps that you see here gives you a slightly different journey to undertake. A handful of maps were provided to those who backed the Kickstarter but when this releases, these will be available for you to buy and print off at home as and when you complete the first few maps.

One of the nice things about this is that you don't have to print it off and play it physically if you don't want to. You could easily load this up onto a program on your computer and play it with friends all over the world. All you'd need to do is mark your journeys and cross off successful crew actions digitally rather than physically.
This was a really fun idea that was incredibly cheap to buy into over on Kickstarter. I'm hoping that we'll see a full release over on the Postmark Games website during the first portion of 2022.
