Will You Begin Your Video Game Talisman Prologue?
December 5, 2012 by brennon
If you're looking to revisit the world of Talisman in digital form then the single player experience, Talisman Prologue is out for you to enjoy. Check out some of the screenshots and a trailer above...
While this might seem like a great way to get into the world of Talisman I wouldn't look past the demo if I were you. Talisman has always been a game based on the luck of the dice and in a single player experience, while it teaches you the mechanics its not the best experience when you're devoid of friends to share in the agony of Lady Luck.
You might want to pick up the demo at least for a quick look at how it's all been put together, because it really is a faithful reproduction of the much loved board game. However, save your money for the full Talisman release so you can join in an adventure with your friends.
Or buy the real board game!
What do you think of this digital change?

Why just make the prologue ? Is it to sell us three games instead of just one, like the Blizzard people did ? I’m a bit puzzled about what the game is, even though the graphics are good… What’s the point of playing the exact same boardgame on a computer rather than on the actual board ? I mean, I’ve had the old game itself at home for years, and my nephew has the latest edition… We’re fine, thank you ! Bottomline… why would I want it on a computer if it’s exactly the same ? And why pay three… Read more »
Rant is certainly worth ranting about lol. It is a bit of a stupid thing right now. I was watching youtube and a guy called TotalBiscuit review it and he said that it might have just been a marketing push from GW.
BoW Ben
I’ve just watched said review.
My worst fears are confirmed : Terrible gameplay, graphics completely copied from the game, crap tutorial text content…
Nothing new, and even less content than the actual game.
How very disappointing for a game I consider a classic and have used as an intro to D&D for children !
And like TB said – it seems like the sort of thing you need to play with other people to get the most enjoyment out of. He was saying that the randomness is fine when all of you can laugh about how the dice just screwed you over, but without that you just get frustrated. Actually now that I think of it, I’ve had that happen while playing XCOM: soldier misses with a 90-odd% chance to hit and I’ll curse (at first just the odd idle joke about firing him after the mission, but getting worse when a mission really… Read more »
Lol Been watching Rythian’s XCom playthrough on Yogscast
That happens quite often!
Think you have it bang on there.
The enemy is down, you stand over him. put the gun to his head, pull the trigger
and MISS!!?? WTH!!?!
Sometimes those crazy frustrating moments are the best when gaming with friends.
Last game of Talisman I played …
Smudge the cat won! 🙁
Why can you choose your character. That’s not part of the game. I sort of get it for a phone but not a pc
