The Vampires & Undead Raise Up For Warhammer Diskwars
May 15, 2014 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games have had a fair amount of success with Warhammer Diskwars of late and it's easy to see why. The game is a simple and quick way of playing something tactically deep on the tabletop without the need to paint up masses of units. Next in line army wise are The Legions of Darkness and a few more details have emerged on these fanged terrors...
The Legions of Darkness expansion brings Vampire Counts to the tabletop in disk form and you have plenty of new keywords and powers to draw upon as you're marching relentlessly across the battlefield.
The two new key words of note are the Fear and Reanimate. The first of these forces the opponent being pinned under your disk to quail in fear reducing its attack to one. The second, Reanimation, allows you to reinforce disks to make them tougher and then of course bring your basic units back to the tabletop to harass your enemies even more.
Twin that with some powerful heroes like Kemmler and and Mannfred and you have a force to be reckoned with. The artwork, drawn from new and old sources is also brilliant.
Does this look like the army for you?

I’ll be picking this up, along with the Hammer and Hold expansion. I’ll probably get two of each eventually (I bought three copies of the base set). I really enjoy this game, and I’m looking forward to playing around with the new rules, units, terrain, and command cards that the new sets will bring.
