For those who have been hitting the Hunter's Lodge as part of the Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game campaign, you will be delighted to know that Steamforged Games has announced the date for the next expansion coming to the title, and this beast is no small feat. The Thunderjaw expansion is on its way, now available to pre-order.

Thunderjaw Expansion // Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game

The Thunderjaw is an absolute beast. If you have ever played Horizon Zero Dawn, the video game, you will  know that these big boys are hard to take down, and they certainly do not like being the hunted!

Thunderjaw Model // Thunderjaw Expansion

Standing as such a tall and stocky unit, this size certainly does reflect just as well-in game:

"In a 1-2 player game, the Thunderjaw has a hit point value of 50, which scales up to 60 in 3-4 player games. That’s MUCH higher than any of the smaller machines in the game, and worthy of a machine of Thunderjaw’s massive size and stature."

Meaning that with a hit point value in 1-2 player mode, this is a high price target which will take strategy and precison to take down this brute.

Thunderjaw Disc Launcher // Thunderjaw Expansion

Along with the Thunderjaw being a high-ticket item. The machine itself boasts to have six removable components being the large behemoth takedown. Meaning there are six different weak spots to stagger and cap the abilities of the Thunderjaw. If you do want to escape the sharp and biting jaws of the beast, you may want to work these out.

The Thunderjaw is armed with head-cannons and a disc launcher which are sure to be deadly, take these away from the fierce unit and the takedown will be so much sweeter.

For more information on the Thunderjaw, including how this model plays on the table, abilities and behaviours, be sure to check out the initial announcement here on the Steamforged Games website.

What do you think of the mighty Thunderjaw model?

"The Thunderjaw is armed with head-cannons and a disc launcher which are sure to be deadly!"
