Taking A Look At Thomas David’s Kingdom Death Dragon Goblin
January 10, 2017 by brennon
The campaign may be over but we thought we'd take this moment to check out one of the sculpts from the craziness that was Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5. Thomas David sculpted up the fantastic Dragon Goblin and it looks epic...
This particularly strange creation came to life as part of the Abyssal Woods expansion for the game and it truly is a beast that defies the imagination. There's so much going on with the model and so many little details you notice each time you go back to it.
Fluff-wise and SPOILERS HERE, this particular creature here was once the Sparrow King who was said to have died to an entity known as the Goblin. In fact, that was never the case and the Sparrow King engineered its own demise so that it could plot and scheme in the background.
When you encounter this particular creature in your games you'll be working to see if you can uncover its lies. Maybe the actual Goblin will be vengeful when it realises that some other creature took its name. It's certainly delving into the darkness that exists within this universe.
Once again we say hats off to Thomas David who sculpted this utter beast of a model. You can check out more shots of the model over on his blog post linked at the top of the page. We hope to see more from him in the future too!
What do you think of this creature?

That’s really nice and unique looking creature.

I’m in for this I know it’s over two years away but still some things are worth the wait!
this looks great, & may make a great alternative for the lord of change?
Astonishing. I didn’t jump in on the recent KS (delighted they did ok despite this :)) but I won’t stop goggling at the imagination going into these monsters.
its dark in kingdom death but the woods would make it more claustrophobic and disorientating. imagine turning round and having your lantern light fall on that. both imaginative and terrifying. all the unnatural naturalness freaks me out. its wrong and weird scary as well as just scary scary. made of natural things put together in unnatural ways. oh and its massive. it would scare me if it was as big as a horse, but its way bigger than a horse. the bird feet, which are a little bit freaky at the best of times, and the stand up tail feathers… Read more »
Really cool stuff, now to count down the months to years till we can get our hands on it!
Definitely one of the more interesting and creepy miniatures to come out of the Kingdom Death world. It is amazingly well brought to life by the sculptor and to me embodies the feeling of terror above all the other sculpts I have seen. Beautiful really.
Freaky… in a good way.
