Become The Phantom In Treasures Of Drakon Board Game
April 2, 2019 by brennon
Based on the comic book hero, The Phantom, a new board game has been introduced to Kickstarter by Frew Publishing/Games and White Cat Press. Treasures Of Drakon drops you right into his wild comic book world.
In this game, you play as Phantom and his allies or the dangerous Red Dragon Pirates as you fight for control over the island stronghold known as Drakon. With a wider player count of between one and six, there's plenty for someone to get stuck into.
There are three different modes of play included in the game where you can either delve into this as part of a solo campaign, a cooperative adventure, or player versus player if you want a competitive challenge.
If you're interested in learning more about the gameplay behind this project you can check it out in the video below...
This all sounds rather fun and it's a nice way of trying to introduce the comic book feel to a board game. As mentioned, the game will also come with some miniatures too based on the characters you can play as.
I used to actually have a Phantom action figure and watched the cartoon they used to have for it too! I never truly understood just what he could do and who he was but always thought it was rather cool.
As a company who has been working on The Phantom since 1948, it's pretty neat to see them stretching their wings and trying their hand at a board game. Hopefully, it pays off!
Will you be taking another look at this one?

Lord of the jungle, the hero who stalks!
The beasts call him brother, the ghost who walks!

Defenders of the Earth, Defenders!
One of the greatest theme tunes, up there with Xmen.
Bless you @brennon , for bringing this to my attention. I have backed it BUT I just spent the most wonderful evening wallowing in nostalgia and pouring over the Frew Publications Web site. This is going to be conceptually difficult for a non-Australian/Kiwi of my age group to understand, but Frew’s Phantom comics were omni-present in my youth, they were everywhere, think 2000AD for you UK types,I guess but even then I am not sure that is enough. Long August evenings out in the open, sitting in the main ring of the Brisbane show*zsw (I almost said “The Ekka” but… Read more »
Only just came across this, would love to back it to get a copy but sadly I just wont have the funds within time. I feel its a foolish idea for them not to continue making this after the kickstarter, this would look great on store shelves
