Get your hands on some gorgeous game design with the 2nd Edition Release of Ryan Laukat's The Ancient World.

In an ancient world forgotten by time, enormous titans terrorize the land. Five tribes have been fleeing from the titans for centuries, but things are about to change. Growing city-states pledge to end the reign of terror, determined to take on the titans and make the world a safer place for all. Each city-state competes to attract the tribes, eager for the strength of the combined peoples, with the hope that the titans can be defeated once and for all.

Become the most influential city by managing your citizens, your money, and your army.  But beware, titans loom around you, ready to stand in the way of progress.  Defeat the titans, gain tribe banners, and increase the reputation of your city as a haven from the horrors of the world.

Victory points are gained for tribe banners and, at the end of six rounds, the player with the most victory points wins!

This 2nd edition is a needed update to the 2014 release of Ryan Laukat's The Ancient World and includes several important rule adjustments to make the game easier to learn and facilitate more fluid play.

Other features are purely aesthetic, but that doesn't mean that they are any less important.  The improved, larger player boards (which, thanks to the unlocking of stretch goals, are now double-sided) have artwork which is simply stunning. Furthermore, second edition backers can look forward to some pretty epic metal currency.

Put simply, it is these sort of extras which attract me to games.  You shouldn't judge a book by its cover, and you shouldn't judge a game by its artwork, but let's face it; we do.  And this has Natalie Dormer levels of beauty. But it also has a game mechanic which backs up that pretty, pretty face.  Hopefully, this new edition clears out any bugs from the previous one.  Back it on Kickstarter now.
