Tanks Roll Onto The World War I Battlefield From Plastic Soldier
September 30, 2015 by brennon
Plastic Soldier Company have taken to Kickstarter to fund an expansion to The Great War board game/war game. It will contain rules, miniatures and terrain tiles for bringing tanks to the battlefield of World War I.
Inside the set you will get...
- 2 x British MK IV males
- 2 x British MK IV females
- 2 x German A7Vs
...which gives you a nice selection of options for playing out real battles from World War I including Cambrai, Villiers-Bretonneux. You also get all of the terrain tiles that you'll need to play with these models in new settings.
Each of the tanks is made of one piece of plastic allowing you to simply drop them onto the tabletop and get started. They said they learnt lessons from the original boxed game and looked into making it easier for people jumping into the game for the first time.
As well as the tanks the Germans also get some artillery pieces with which to try and stop the advance of this machines of death and destruction. The artillery pieces do require a bit of assembly but they are simple snap fit affairs, the full instructions for them are over on the Kickstarter.
Stretch goals include the addition of more tanks and missions for them to undertake as well as updated and tweaked storage options and embellishments to the game itself and components. I think this looks like a really polished product and could easily sit along greats in this 'war game' style like Memoir '44.
Have you got into The Great War?

Please, leave me alone. Every time I think I won’t be buying something new you add pictures like this! PSC make some of the best tank minis I have ever fiddled with – here we go again.
If my wife ever gets to BoW hq – run!
Those look rather good.
So getting this, the game is great and the tanks look excellent.
like models.
Wait a minute . . . new minis from PSC?
HEX GRIDS??
Oh, great. Why not just pile on a Chicago deep-dish pizza, a Cuban cigar, a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue? ‘Cause, you know, this wasn’t awesome enough!?!? 😀
I can throw in the deep dish pizza @Oriskany.
…someone put a leash on him!
Thanks, @stvitusdancern 🙂
and @unclejimmy – as Oddball from Kelly’s Heroes says: *WOOF WOOF! That’s my *other* dog imitation.” 😀
you forgot WOOF?
Sorry. Sheesh, someone is always ready to correct me on this site. (just kidding) 😀
Lol
Dog impression surely
As a point of grammar / vocabulary I would agree, but I’m pretty positive the line from the movie is “imitation.” Although I think there he “woofs” thrice . . . hence @zorg ‘s comment. 😀
OHHH! We were both wrong! It’s four times!
At the end of the clip . . .

I stand corrected
oops
I thought those things moved at walking pace? That one on the box art looks like it’s about to do a dukes of hazard over the trench.
