TableTop Episode IV: Ticket to Ride
May 21, 2012 by dracs
Wil Wheaton's TableTop returns to take you through one of my own favourite board games, the brilliantly simple Ticket to Ride.
This time Wil is joined by Colin Ferguson, Amy Dallen and his wife Anne Wheaton. That's right this game can even get your wife to join in.
Ticket to Ride is the award winning board game from Days of Wonder. You and your friends take on the role of Railway entrepreneurs, building up your company's railways to link cities across North America. The more railways you build, the more cities you connect, the more points you collect.
All in all a brilliantly simple and deceptively fun game perfect for when you are looking for something light and easy to play.
So with that in mind all that's left to say is all aboard for Wil Wheaton's locomotive of a show, TableTop.
Have any of you played this game before? Are any of you tempted to give it a go now?

Epic Table Flip by Mrs Wheaton! 🙂 You don’t get much better than a quadruple facepalm…fortunately it doesn’t matter if you break the board when you have a whole camera crew to record what position all the trains were in. 😉
Looks like a fun game too, definitely one to go on the ‘must buy’ list. Good to see strategies there even with simple rules like working from the inside out or getting the longest route.
I played Ticket to Ride once, but I didn’t really enjoy it as much as Railways of the World. I find Ticket to Ride a bit too simplistic for my tastes. It’s not a bad game by any means, I just prefer a bit more meat to my train games.
After reading the title this song got stuck in my head:
“She’s got a ticket to ride but she don’t care”
Simple, but it is definitely a game that is one of my crown jewels in my collection!
The Rolex Moment was a peach!
Another great show from Mr Wheaton! 😀
what an utterly random show, fun though 🙂
…also someone comes to your house and punches you in the face before you go to bed. lol
Ok, I’m buying this game, so many board games that I want, so little time to play them!
