Let’s Play: Joan Of Arc – The Sword Of Fierboís
October 3, 2019 by avernos
Gerry and Justin meet with Leo from Mythic Games to play the starting scenario in Joan Of Arc, the Sword Of Fierboís.
Back Joan Of Arc 1.5 on Kickstarter
Joan and her companions, Bertrand de Poulengy and Jean de Metz, undertake a perilous journey to the court at Chinon. They stopover at the church of Sainte-Catherine-de-Fierboís, a small pilgrimage site east of Chinon and south of Tours, known for its miracles. Joan decides to stop to pray, but the country is at war and English raiders cross the Loire to plunder the Dauphin's land.
Will God lay his hands down on Gerry or will the filthy English Justin raid the lands and capture the Sword before Joan?
Another hour of being amused! I must say, the game mechanics look interesting but I’d want to make bigger tiles and have them a bit more 3D.
or smaller bases to make it easier to stack
@avernos wonder if it would work on Hexon hexes?
Difficult to scale difference between the ones in game and above when watching you play.
Hexon are approx 4″ across from what I remember when did quick conversion for own ‘I’ve got those B movie Blues’ from inchs to hexes.
Another cracking ” Let’s Play ” chaps. It further tempts me to actually crack open my JoA bundle and get it some table time,as i’ve not been brave enough thus far because it’s a little intimidating looking at all that 15mm stuff. There are bigger Core Box tiles available through the 1.5 KS,but that ( as a subject ) is a conversation best left to a ” Pointless Views ” post or three i think ( provided i can make it clear what i’m trying to say and don’t make myself look a tw*t ).
I don’t think larger tiles would help. Big scenarios would struggle to fit on peoples tables.
Rebase for tiny saga and the smaller footprint would help no end
From the lets plays I’ve watched it doesn’t look like smaller bases would have any effect of gameplay as dont you have a max unit per hex rule anyway?
Be honest, who else read this as the sword of fire bois?
“Please Gerry save us from the english” wonderful work editors!
😀
Hurray! fine work lance
Lance does read it as that
The game play looks really clunky to me…..
