August 17, 2021 by fcostin
Everybody loves a puzzle to complete with their family, and the ever-growing card-drafting board game Azul fits perfectly into that category. Whether players want to construct glorious stained glass puzzles in the original Azul in Southern Spain, head on over to the Summer Pavilion in Portugal or bedazzle the streets in the Stained Glass of Sintra. Azul has grown at an alarming rate, with spin-offs and expansions coming left, right and centre from Next Move Games.

The newest expansion to the Summer-themed set Azul: Summer Pavilion has most recently been released, entitled Azul: Glazed Pavilion Expansion, providing new content and puzzles to be completed this 2021 summer.
The new expansion builds on the initial foundations provided in Azul: Summer Pavilion by adding new components and resources to build and expand your Portuguese painting adventure.

Azul: Glazed Pavilion adds two newly designed player boards with matching scoring boards, adding more puzzles and more stained-glass trickery. Along with the addition of the two new boards, there is a set of four new overlays to ensure that your tiles do not do a runner, and that they are firmly kept in place.

For those who have not played Azul: Summer Pavilion before, players take on the role of a master artisan and muster the materials to create a mystifying summer pavilion in the streets of Portugal. However, this isn't as easy as making up a pretty picture. Players must draft tiles, creating and competing to create their own masterpieces without wasting any resources. All whilst adhering to a strict scoring strategy of points.
If you are a fan of Azul: Summer Pavilion and are looking for some fresh content, the game retails roughly between £10-£15 depending on where you are shopping online, and can make a fantastic addition and expansion on an already beloved game.
