Ni No Kuni II: The Board Game Coming Soon From Steamforged!
July 25, 2019 by brennon
Steamforged Games has announced that Gen Con this year will be the first time you can take a peek at Ni no Kuni II: The Board Game, based on the successful video game series which embraced the Studio Ghibli look and feel.
The game will be a one-to-four player cooperative affair where you are looking to save the kingdom, defeating monsters, completing quests and facing down the forces of evil that hide in the wings. It features the gorgeous artwork from the game world and looks like a neat, self-contained experience which is refreshing.
The game will feature some miniatures of the game's heroes which is neat but beyond that, it looks like a good old traditional board game which is great! The team behind Steamforged Games hasn't given folks a release date for the game but as mentioned above you will be able to play this at Gen Con.
We are very interested to see what gameplay is like for this as Ni no Kuni II is a beloved game with lots of avid fans.
Will you be snapping this up?

Well this is interesting.
When it hits retail I’ll check it out, I think Steamforged always have interesting mechanisms in their games so I’d be interested to see what they do with this property. If they are showing it a Gen-Con hopefully it’s not a kickstarter for them and hits retail soon enough rather than years from now.
