Starcadia Quest Is The Cutest Sci-Fi Kickstarter Yet!
August 31, 2018 by ludicryan
KAWAAAAAAIIIII! Okay, now that I've gotten that out of my system, I can start talking about the adorable Starcadia Quest from CMON which still has 11 days to go on Kickstarter.
Following the equally cute Arcadia Quest, CMON has gotten the band back together for this new standalone game: Starcadia Quest. Taking that popular Chibi style and putting it through the CMON quality control machine has produced some stunningly detailed figures for this game. The new sci-fi theme means that each miniature is incredibly varied. There are some cool inspirations that bleed through, with Scuttlebutt looking a bit like Dragon Ball Z's Frieza, Iceheart resembling the Queen of Blades from the Starcraft series, and Supreme Commander Thorne is a dead ringer for Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars. All of these feel like loving homages, especially the Hero character Alpha with their Tron suit and discs.
Each of the two to four players controls a starship crew looking to acquire more gear and to become the most notable and courageous crew in the galaxy. Event cards at the end of a turn keep players on their toes with more enemies spawning and the entire spaceship you are all in bumping into an asteroid moving players about the map.
If you're a fan of everything pirates well then CMON has you covered for space-sharks and space-Davy Jones. The Starcadia Quest: ARRRmada expansion includes two more heroes and a band of marauding space pirates that come into the fray to ruin everyone's day. The Kickstarter is fully funded already but there are 11 days still to go on this one.
What Sci-Fi character would you love to see as a chibi miniature in this game?

Some of those are rather weird looking.
“weird” and AWESOME!
Not normally a big chibi fan but I am totally in to these minis – maybe it’s the sci-fi thing, maybe it’s the beautiful paintwork, maybe it’s the Space Pirates – whatever it is I’m on the bandwagon! 🙂
