Fight Out Star Wars: The Clone Wars With Pandemic Spin-Off

Z-Man has revealed another of their new Pandemic spin-off board games. This time around, they are diving into the battles of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Take on the role of the Jedi and their companions as you seek to stop the Separatists and the Sith!
Star Wars: The Clone Wars // Z-Man Games
Utilising familiar mechanics from the original Pandemic, you will play as Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker as you travel around the galaxy battling the Separatists and freeing planets from their control.

If a planet falls under too many attacks it will become blockaded and the Sith will have been able to move forward with another step in their plan. This is a full-on cooperative game where you will be using cards to move around the board and free planets from enemy control. Interestingly, there are also dice and specific cards representing notable units, heroes and villains in this game giving another aspect to combat beyond the "by the numbers" feel of regular Pandemic.

I'm always a little on the fence about games like this which build on a set of mechanics meant for another game. But, from having a look at the game in this early preview, it seems like they've done some fun work to try and offer up something a bit different.
The Pandemic mechanics are also very easy to learn (there is a reason the game has done so well over the years) which means this would make for a great game for a family to dive into I reckon. I also have to tip the cap to Z-Man for using proper art in the game's components and cards rather than film stills!
Could you be tempted by Star Wars: The Clone Wars?

Seeing as how I don’t already own a copy of Pandemic, and enjoy Star Wars, I might be in the target audience.
Ooh nice one.
Well this is interesting.
