Space Base Gets New Pluto Expansion
December 9, 2018 by cassn
A strange new galactic body has emerged within the Milky Way. The greatest minds of The United Earth Services find themselves bewildered by the sudden appearance of Shy Pluto. Get the crews to their stations — it's time to deploy your ships.
Space Base is a dice rolling and card drafting game from the designer of Mystic Vale. It was hugely popular when it was released earlier in 2018, and now publisher Alderac Entertainment Group have announced the first expansion to the game.
In Space Base: The Emergence of Shy Pluto players can expect to find new ships and new scenarios along with a new narrative element. This is the first in a series of 'Saga Expansions' from Alderac for Space Base which, despite being a fun game, up until now has had no storyline.
Once the narrative has been completed, the expansion can be combined with the base game and replayed. Space base: The Emergence of Sky Pluto should be released in March 2019, so interested explorers can journey over to the Alderac website for more information.

Not that I mind companies producing expansions to games, but this is one that I really don’t feel needs one!
Same with the storyline. It doesn’t have one, but the theme is strong enough to support what is a fun game without one, and I can’t see how adding a storyline is going to improve it.
Still, it’ll be interesting to see what this actually is like when it comes out.
