Soda Pop & Ninja Division Launch Rail Raiders Infinite Kickstarter
April 7, 2016 by brennon
Soda Pop Miniatures & Ninja Division are having some rootin' tootin' Sci-Fi cowboy fun as the Rail Raiders Infinite Kickstarter begins. If you ever wanted to get stuck into a world of chibi Space Cowboys then this is your window to the world...
You'll be moving from cabin to cabin on the train looking for loot and shooting up the place as you go. Whoever ends up with the biggest fistful of double-dollars before the train gets into the station will be the winner. All combat, interestingly, is dictated by the use of Poker Dice!
What's In The Box?
Inside the box you're going to get a set of heroes, a host of lawbots, some really nice looking game tiles and all the tokens and cards you could need to get stuck into the game.
I really like the design of the lawbots here and it provides you with a rather kid friendly way of doing combat I reckon too. Seems a little bit more jovial when you're up against robots rather than real people.
Gameplay
In the game you can team up with the other heroes or just get stuck in and do some double-crossing where you duke it out for the loot. I think the double-crossing route is going to be the most popular.
Passing through the train you'll find additional loot that can be equipped to your characters and the High Noon cards will effect the gamestate and act as a timer as the train rushes towards its destination.
I really like the dice mechanic they've chosen which allows you to make some choices rather than just accepting what you role - the chance to cheat fate with Jokers and the like is a helpful addition to the game mechanics.
You can find out more about the gameplay of Rail Raiders in the Gameplay Video above
Stretch Goals & Add-Ons
One of the additional Add-Ons you can get for the game adds in a couple of new heroes as well as some more lawbots! The Good, The Bad & The Bot adds in John Grizzly and Pancho Perfecto as well as Lt. Deadeye for the lawbots and some Cavalry Bots to back him up.
As well as that it wouldn't be a Kickstarter without some Stretch Goals. We've picked out some of the goals further down the line that will add some interesting new characters to the world and give you more game options.
I think this game looks charming and builds upon their board game collection without stepping on the toes of the likes of Super Dungeon Explore or Ninja All Stars. The gameplay feels different enough and additionally is very simply lending itself to being played by a variety of different groups.

Super cute styling and for the amount of stuff you get very reasonably priced at $50 I think
This is soo cute, simple (no fancy add-ons to choose yet) and it’s got a reasonable entry level.
I guess I have to break my promise not to do another kickstarter …
What’s not to like about robot cowboys…..
However just watched the video and the gameplay seems a big basic (combat mechanic is basically Yahtzee). Love the idea, but I’d need to see more about the game before I go near, bit worried its a load of miniatures with a bad game (a bit like Overkill)
Nice, like the idea of using poker dice, with rerolls – as it throw away most of the proberbilitycalculations we all do on d6’s
