Sneak A Peek At A Whole Host Of Deadzone Minis Coming Soon
July 17, 2014 by brennon
Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher posted up a whole bunch of images of the upcoming Asterians and Forge Fathers over on their Facebook page for the world of Deadzone by Mantic Games. See what you think of the upcoming additions...
First up we have some shots of the Asterians themselves. While I like the design of the turret and the bike I'm not entirely sold on the actual figures themselves. I don't know what it is but the armour itself seems a little too spindly for my tastes. I think it would have been nice to see a bit more 'body' to them although I do appreciate they wanted to go for a waspish-like look.
The taster from the last set of photos also showed off a Brokkr biker for the Forge Fathers and there are even more to look forward to with these awesome looking Brokkr and the ace Forge Guard who will most certainly be part of my collection once they come out. I'm going to pick them up even if I don't end up playing the actual game!
As well as the Asterians and Forge Fathers we have some neat looking additions to the Enforcers as well. Sitting astride this rather epic looking mono-cycle with a deadly sniper rifle we have a great example of fire and move!
Are you chomping at the bit for this expansion for Deadzone?

Always wanted some more variety to play oldhammer40k squats! Hurray for the motorbikes!
Hmmm… not pumped about these. Some are good, but others look like action figures. I wish Mantic could be more consistent. But as always, the price is right.
Looks like Mantic is getting more of my money!
Those platforms are a lot bigger than the concept art made them out to be. 🙂
I have to agree the androids look very undynamic, I get that they are supposed to be robots, but still
Their handler, on the other hand, look almost TOO dynamic (In the old-fasioned, flat-to-cast-in-as-few-pieces-as-possible way)
I think part of the problem is that we have all been spoiled by Infinity stuff!
That is probably the case.
Corvus Belli do spoil us.
But I have also seen a lot better from Mantic
As much as I love Mantic rulesets and value for money their minis just don’t do it for me. To me they just look a little dated and too static.
i am thinking that the asterain commader might make a good eldar or tau model
I like the Brokkr. Very nice!
I like the Brokkr. Very nice! And for my money, Deadzone is more fun of a game than Infinity.
This looks like an all-win release to me, I like all of it – even the beardless dwarfs!
The minis look fine – I think what is needed is better paint schemas for them. Give an identical mini to 100 painters and you will get the spectrum of stunning to bloody awful (someone once told me they deliberately painted their minis in the most disgusting colour combinations as they were so awful it put other players off their game. Yes, lime green and pink, with brown and purple bits).
Yeah, I really like those forgefather suits, but personally I’m not keen on the paint scheme they’ve chosen.
Nothing I don’t like here, so OK it looks like I’ll have to play Deadzone as well. Too many games not enough lives…
I like the idea of the forgefathers , but Hasslefree have done a way superior line to them in Grymns , so I will be proxying them.
