Vampire Hunters Smashes Stretch Goals In Final Days On Kickstarter
August 15, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
If you're a fan of vampires and fantastic looking miniatures, then you're in luck!
There's still a few days left on the Vampire Hunters miniatures board game Kickstarter from Dark Gate Games.
These guys have been smashing through stretch goals and are funded multiple times over, which is not only amazing, but translates into a massive amount of additional minis for backers! The quality of these minis is just incredible, and they encompass everything from humans to vampires to nightmareish beasts!
At this point, the stretch goals have unlocked loads of goodies for backers: tons of minis, additional tiles, dice, terrain, and more.
They have really gone to town on this one and developed the game a lot more after their first time on Kickstarter.
Will you be trying your hand as a Vampire Hunter?

According to Kickstarter their initial attempt in 2015 was cancelled.
That project doesn’t list any reasons, which is kind of a red flag for this second attempt TBH.
I was an original backer in 2015. They cancelled because they were too successful. The KS funded in a week and they were unprepared for stretch goals beyond 50k. And, at least I think, did the right thing and cancelled to prevent a goat-rope. Then asked the backers to wait until they were prepared so we would get the product we were paying for.
looks to be an interesting game.
I’m not much of a fan of the art style they’ve gone with for the miniatures (with a few exceptions which look fantastic), but it looks like a fun game. I hope it does well!
This one offers a lot of options, depending on how much you want to spend for expansions or add-ons, but just the $90 base pledge is getting you 78 minis and counting, plus tiles, tokens and cards, etc. Will we really see it in a year? Probably not, but hey, that’s Kickstarter 🙂
This has been a well run & fun KS! Really loving everything about it. Still time to join in.

Looks interesting.
The models look nice, even though I don’t like vampire themed games.
Dark Gate Games previously had a Middara crossover character, Nyx & just revealed a Fire Team Zero crossover with Shadroe. & it was just a couple hours after people were talking about porting the FTZ characters over with the Customization Kit [templates for creating new characters, bad guys & even map tiles]. That they had Shadroe in their bag o’tricks… it’s like DGG sees the future!

Actually the reason they cancelled was in short to make a good game awesome. You can read about it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1900818244/vampire-hunters/posts/1211797 I actually read thru every update of the previous campaign (link below). If you look at the game components ( tiles, cards, character dashboards, tokens, dice ) they have improved the artwork on all, and the mechanics look much smoother. I have not liked every miniature of the new campaign, but 98% of them look simply awesome! They will be produced by Ludo Fact who did Zombicide: Black Plague. You can also pledge a $1 and add more later in… Read more »
Also, their current campaign has 4 video and gameplay reviews! The previous campaign has video closeups of the miniatures:
