Skybound Games Bringing Zombies & Dungeon Delving To PAX Unplugged
November 30, 2018 by brennon
Skybound Games has revealed that there will be two new board games to check out at PAX Unplugged this weekend. The first of these is a new Walking Dead game called Something To Fear.
"The Walking Dead: Something to Fear is a 2-5 person competitive card game where players must form uneasy alliances and work together to survive while competing to secure their own position in the group. The game was designed by Derek and Lizzy Funkhouser, with art by Justin Chan."
More from The Walking Dead is probably a good idea as people love this franchise. I like the idea of delving into the idea of uneasy alliances and survival mechanics in a card game!
Stepping away from a well-known franchise we also have Valor & Villainy.
"Valor & Villainy: Minions of Mordak is a 2-6 player roleplaying board game where one player plays as the evil wizard Mordak, while the rest form an alliance of heroes who must stop the scheming wizard. Each game is different due to a random board, minions, and spells. James Van Niekerk designed and illustrated the game."
Dungeon delvers can be a good winner amongst a group as long as they get a good balance between the one player and the horde of adventurers. I find that unless you can get things balanced just right one side or the other just won't have a good time.
It will be neat to find out more about these games and see how they play in the near future!
Which of these games would you pick up?

Given how well Level 7 plays, if you like a fantasy setting, this you will love. Having played Level 7 this felt familiar. The game will be available to back on Kickstarter in Q1 of 2019. Demo was quick, components great for a prototype and for me it instantly felt like a Level 7 reskin in many ways. My cousin was all over this because likes the fantasy theme better than the… Read more »
