Siege Add-On Brings New Rules To Joan Of Arc Battles
October 23, 2017 by brennon
A massive Siege Add-On with rules and more has been added to the Time Of Legends: Joan Of Arc Kickstarter as it moves towards the halfway point of its campaign.
In an attempt to make sure that the Siege gameplay feels as accurate as it can to the actual events that happened at some of the major battles during the Hundred Years War as well as the pieces here for the final assault on the walls of a fortified castle or town...
...the guys at Mythic Games are also going to be including a twenty-minute card game that you play before the final assault simulating the weeks of anguish and starvation that hit both armies as they duke it out for control and the tiniest of advantages.
The Add-On itself, which can be viewed in its entirety HERE, gives you access to wall sections, gates, fortifications, siege equipment like guns and trebuchets as well as tiles and more to enhance the experience.
This is certainly a very ambitious addition to the project and features a hell of a lot of extra work. The renders so far are looking great and it's once again awesome to see them getting so much epic quality design out of the 15mm scale.
Talking of cool models, they even have a few prototypes to show off.
As you can see they have a number of black powder weapons which would have been used during the time as well as cool new sapper models which will be digging trenches, mines and looking to break down the doors of whatever citadel you attack.
Now just throw a dragon into the mix for a properly epic siege right?
Drop your thoughts below...

I’m not jumping in on this, but I want to. The castle looks ace. 15mm is a good scale for siege warfare, for those of us who don’t have a hall to run 28mm castles
You can get the castle on its own without needing to get the game. The campaign allows for add-ons with the $1 pledge.
Can you use the castle on it’s own?
Awesomeness!!
Wait, this entire project and all its minis are 15mm? I did not realize this. Hmm, I might want to reconsider my pledge…
Yes, though the likes of the dragon, devil, and beast are massive and would be very big in a 28mm army. If you want the minis to mix in with 28mm minis then aside from those ones I mentioned they won’t work. They work great in the context of playing the game though.
ooh wow that’s fantastic scenery.
I’m impressed with the quality of this Kickstarter. Will be pledging heavily. The only thing I will not be getting is the dragon.. as I have no where to hide it from the wife. 🙂
They went with the 16mm scale so that you can play dramatic games on a normal table. I am one of the heretics that believes in 15mm, so this is straight up my alley.
16mm is not a major issue for me if you look at the range of figures that are out there in 15mm many go as big as 18mm it all comes down to the method of measurement I think these will fit in easily with most 15mm games 🙂
@wtungsten
Dragon fits in a 20cm cubed box when the wings are detached – very clever design. Surely The Boss might not notice such a tiny little box? 🙂 Go on – the Drago is stup[endous and looks very impressive even against 28mm/32mm scale minis.
Haha. I’m just trying to avoid another “Kallistra incident”! it was those hard to hide mountains that gave me away..
Not wishing to be cynical but a KS with that amount of stuff to deliver makes me nervous.
@tankkommander
They did this much stuff on their last one, Mythic Battles: Pantheon, and not only are they delivering, it’s on time too.
Nice to hear they have a good KS rack record.
Turns out they’re actually a little early lol

Darn it, you just had to say this didn’t you, now i’m in for a base game + unleash hell add-on 🙂
Mythic have far and away the best record of communication of any Kickstarter creator; the Leo Live last night (Wednesday 25th October) had I think 752 people watching live at the peak and well over 650 for the bulk of the 2 hour plus show. The amount of communication during Mythic Battles:Pantheon really set a superb standard in frequency and comprehensive coverage, not least because Jake Thornton was monitoring the chat/comments and fed queries and answers back and forth all day (and night). Leo is a hero – we are trying to persuade Mythic to create a tribute mini –… Read more »
