Catan Settles The World Of VR With New Developer
September 7, 2017 by dracs
The popular board game Settlers of Catan is being converted into a virtual reality format.
The new VR format is being created by developer Experiment 7, along with Catan Company and publishers Asmodee Digital.
"Whether taking on other players around the world or playing against Catan personalities, players can watch the island come to life in VR for the first time, with beautiful in-game environments and cross-play functionality."
Catan VR will reportedly be coming out this holiday season on the Occulus Rift and Samsung Gear, with more VR platforms to follow.
It's pretty exciting to see board games utilising new technology in this way to allow players from all over the world to experience the game in new ways. I am taken with the idea that one day I could join my friends in Japan via virtual reality for a board game night.
Do you fancy diving into VR for a game of Catan?
