PSC Games has another impressive Paolo Mori coming to the tabletop soon. Historical fans will have already enjoyed a similar experience with Blitzkrieg! and Caesar!: Seize Rome In 20 Minutes! builds on that with a decidedly crunchier experience.

Caesar!: Seize Rome In 20 Minutes! // PSC Games

In a game of Caesar!, each player will take on the role of either the eponymous Caesar or Pompey. Players will draw units from their bags and decided where to strategically place them on key battlegrounds in order to seize control of the various provinces.

Whilst in Blitzkrieg the tokens helped with a tug of war between the Allied and the Axis, Caesar! has you trying to contend with a war on many different fronts. Where a token is placed is incredibly important as the strength of arms you deploy affects two provinces rather than one. Gaining control of provinces gives you benefits and bonuses and whilst it looks more complicated, Caesar! still plays out in a tidy twenty minutes.

This is a great step up from Blitzkrieg! and offers a slightly more tactical brain-burner of a game. If you're interested in seeing how Blitzkrieg! is played when you can check out our quick look at it HERE.

Caesar! also comes with three modules that expand the game. These include ways to poison your opponent, deploy mighty Centurions or use other underhanded tactics. It also plays solo!

Are you tempted to give this a shot for a dose of Ancient action in twenty minutes?
