Go Under The Sea With Ark Nova: Marine Worlds Expansion

Designer Mathias Wigge has been busy in the background working on a new expansion for the massive hit board game, Ark Nova. The game of zoo building and looking after animals goes under the sea with Ark Nova: Marine Worlds, which is lined up for a release in the near future via Feuerland Spiele and Capstone Games.

Marine Worlds adds new elements to gameplay including the obvious, sea animals! They are going to need a special enclosure that must be built adjacent to water and will be a new puzzle for you to tinker with when it comes to setting up your zoo.

As well as that, you've also got reef dwellers, a new university and there are also some new alternative versions of the action cards for you to tinker with. This increases the asymmetry of the game and throws some more curveballs into the mix when it comes to how things change from game to game. The team have also thought about how to balance a bunch of new cards in an already hefty game. Ark Nova should still play quite nicely even with a whole new way of gaining victory points.

This expansion to Ark Nova also comes with alternative wooden markers for the three tracks in the game and some cute animals to mark the different conservation projects you support rather than the basic player markers. This sounds like a pretty neat way to get more from your Ark Nova games without overloading yourself with too many cards.
