April 29, 2016 by brennon
Gale Force Nine have been doing a lot of work with Wizards of the Coast for Dungeons & Dragons. They are helming their Collector's Series of miniatures AND the board games too. The new Dragon+ Magazine delves into both of these projects...
Sculpting Nightmares
No this isn't about terrible sculpting but instead one of their newest models, Strahd von Zarovich, for the latest D&D supplement. They go into detail about sculpting the beast and its rider.
The article gives you a good insight into how these models come together and how they work out the best way to pose them too.
If you're interested in the process behind the models we get to play with on the tabletop then this is a good read indeed.
Tyrants of the Underdark
As well as that they have given readers an overview of tactics for use in Tyrants of the Underdark which is their new Drow-based board game.
You will find some helpful tips for playing this game worked into that article. On the subject of Tyrants of the Underdark you can also find out more about the game HERE.
The guys have gone into real detail about the set-up for the game and give you a lesson on card anatomy. You can also check out our interview with John-Paul Brisigotti HERE for more info on the game.
Will you be giving Dragon+ a read?

Great sculpt!
In an industry that often gets horses so very wrong, this is wonderful. Well done that sculptor!
That is one dynamic horse. Reminds me of those old paintings of generals in the heat of battle.
